All that talking and posturing during the race like they’re in total control. oops!
True point... however, in their defense, a lot of the great race we just watched was brought to us by the Ethiopian team tactics... they led the field through a fast pace, and that is as it should be with so many studs running these days.
It was an awesome race and they played their role for everyone, but unfortunately for 2/3 of the Ethiopians, it did not work out. About the time the chatting started, they lost their commitment to the fast pace, and they'd have been better off if they kept going with it.
BTW: I think Grant Fisher would still have been with the leaders for sure if they'd have kept the pace up. No guarantees he'd still have medaled, but definitely still in there. In fact, it only got tricky for him with the bunched up slow pace dictating he could not make a move until the sprint. Fisher seemed ready for anything though!!! Awesome.
Vernon Norwood the ultimate glue guy. Need to have someone like that on every team.
^^^^^^
Love Vernon! Big fan.
i wish there was a way we could have three other folks run the straights and turns— and just have Vernon do all the stickwork: “… and Norwood hands off to — NORWOOD. Another great pass!”
This was such a great day of track and field. No one performed worse than I expected, and several people performed better than I expected so only good surprises. The Peacock coverage was awesome with no commercial breaks during the races and their announcers were annoying at all. Could not have asked for more out of the first day of running events!
