First impressions were posted more than a year ago here, but finally (and likely promoted by the new IAAF rules), Skechers has dropped the Speed Elite.
https://www.roadtrailrun.com/2019/01/skechers-performance-speed-elite-hyper.html.
The Speed Elite rings up at $190 (
https://www.skechers.com/en-us/style/55221/skechers-gorun-speed-elite-hyper/bkbl) or $180 at Running Warehouse (
https://www.runningwarehouse.com/Skechers_GOrun_Speed_Elite_Hyper/descpage-SGSE002.html). Don't ask me why they are more expensive from Skechers themselves - some things just can't be explained!
Anyone picking up a pair?
When I found out Skechers cost Kara an Olympic spot , I banned them .
It might as well have been 30mm forefoot from how soft it was.
Update: Shoes arrived today. I tested them out with a sub 5 mile on the treadmill and to quote crazy eyes from Mr. Deeds "Damn these things are fast!"
This is my first ever time running in a shoe with a carbon plate and they definitely have a springy effect. Foam is firm and very bouncy. I can't wait to test these things at 5K/10K.
Size wise: slightly shorter than the Razor 3, slightly longer than the Speed 6.
Thanks Rob! Looking forward to the next report. Sounds like perfect sizing
I'm looking for something with larger print that starts at one ankle, wraps around the front, and continues to the other side. I need it to say "CARBON FIBER BABY," or "FORTY MILLIMETERS." Can anyone point me in the right direction?

A treadmill that goes sub-5?! That’s the real “elite” gear here.
Keep us posted.
Looks like now available on the Canada Sketchers website but only sizes 8,10 & 12 right now
I wear a size 10.5 regularly, would a size 10 fit in these? I have the 10.5 in GRR8 and it feels slightly long

I would go 10, yes.

I disagree. Go with 11. I wear 10.5 in the GRR8. 11 in the Razor 3 and Speed 6. 10.5 in the Forza and 10.5 in the Max Road 4. 11 fits perfect for the Speed Elite.

so it's a size up for normal sizes?
I'm 9.5 for Saucony, Nike, NB, Addidas but 9 for Reeboks...Never tried sketchers for size

RobA has run in more comparable shoes than I have, so I may just deflect to him (I've never tried Razor or Ride 8). I would just hesitate to match a size in the Speed 6... is buying both an option?

I'm also one of the few that liked how the Speed 6 felt only a half size up from my normal 10.5. It fits like a true racing flat, snug. There is more room in the Speed Elite at the same size, though.
For the Razor 3, GRR8, and Speed Elite Hyper, size 9 fits great in each. For Speed 6, 9.5 was the ticket.

hmm, can't see my response.
Anyways...so speed 6 you suggest half size up and Speed Elite a size down or is it normal sizing?
"Alberto's Dog"?? Just sign your name Kara

Same sizing as the Razor 3 for the Speed Elite. I don't know what 'normal' sizing is anymore ever since I started running exclusively in skechers.
