Are you more astounded by Barega today, or Kipruto yesterday? Both meets sucked in general, but at least these two races were good. Which was the better one?

Poor coaching- they aren’t leaving him enough room to improve in his college-age years. Probably trains too hard. Sure he’s good now, but how much more can he improve from 19 to 23??
^
Right on the money - this is why America sucks. We are afraid to let people practice the thing that can make them great. I think LeBron's coach told him to stop working on his ball handling and shooting when he was a kid so he could improve more when he was in the NBA.
If we call every one dopper who is the clean athlete
Or they should have light skin not to be called dopper ?

It's nice that Mo Farah era is over. Otherwise this race would have been won in 13:08 with everyone looking around the entire time, trying to prove that they can out kick him.
If that were true, then all the other Diamond League 5ks would have been faster. Lol are you blaming Farah for the 8:20 2 mile that Barega ran at Pre?
Hopefully the doping in Ethiopia will come to a halt just as it has for much of Kenya. Glad I didn't watch this joke. It's like watching the Tour De France ten years ago or even worse, WWE wrestling.
I will go back to watching and enjoying the UTMB race now.
I see pure stupidity in this comment
Sorry if it offended to you
While Barega can run fast, he was pulled to the fast time by Kejelcha. He only finished 4th in what was a tacticle African Champs.
I predict in a slow 5k in championship conditions, he will lose and possibly not even medal every time. But if one or more runs decide to sacrifice to run a fast race, he has a much better chance at winning. Lately though most championship races have been slower in nature. Jakob can still beat him and medal in championship races.
If he can keep passing the dope tests, he could possibly threaten the 5000m WR.
Fails to medal at world Jr's and goes 12:43.......Really?

no, they'll soon be moving to the roads (real money)
Yomif is 21, and Barega is 18. The two haven't even experienced the Olympics yet, and they will not really see the road
until they are about 27. They are ethiopian, and track means more than the road to Ethiopians. If they were Kenyans, you would have a point.
Just look at Dibaba, Bekele, Haile. They didn't leave the track until their 30s.
In Ethiopia it is all about the track, and then graduate to the road.
In Kenya, it is all about the Marathon.
I continue to be amazed with the utter domination of youth in the sport recently.
Ingebrigtsen, Norman, Raj and now these two.
I've heard plenty of chatter of the unfair advantage that older athletes have in the collegiate ranks.
However it seems to me that age may only be a factor so far as it represents time/opportunity to train. As long as the training is there, these younger bodies certainly seem capable of world class performances. Will be interesting to see if these athletes can improve on these performances as they approach mid to late 20's.

Sucks for Jakob... he's going to spend his entire career finishing second to Barega.
Lol. You're already falling on knives. Jakob may actually never lose to Barega. He probably would have ran 12:39 here.
2018 World Jrs
3rd: Jakob
4th: Barega
Coe jogged it in in that 3:48.95 world record performance, where he had enough to run seconds faster. That's why he didn't seem that knackered at the end. His father recommends doing strides in your victory lap to cool down properly, which his why he's always seen running past the photographers and getting some good run down the backstretch.

"Second"? Try further down. Much further down.
notice how the only kenyan was just barely under 13:00? its only a matter of time before the axe falls on ethiopia but for now rek is prob excited and elK is sad cause his boys got crushed.
good thing im not racists, nor have any ties to my "fav" distance runners. my favorites have always been ritz and KB. doped or not just enjoyed KBs smooth form, kinda like kipketer and lagat, just so smooth
Odd that you're so anti-doping, yet your hero is KB "doped or not"- your words. Really weakens your credibility, in my opinion. At least, weakens your ability to criticise others regarding doping as you seem to constantly do.

No matter how their achievement feels not fair for you . Still there are some guys out there working hard and their high attitude nd their gene which makes their dream come true
I know it seems impossible for you guys
But
BEKELE... Gebreselassie .. Sehin... Kejelcha...barega
All are clean athletes ... World class ethiopians
If EPO was their key for success European athletes would be the first one to use it
But Aden got popped for having loads of EPO on him, as well as other drugs.
So stop lying. They are dirty just like the rest of them. I love to watch them race , but stop with the BS
Ayana broke a dirty WR. And Yomif runs for NOP, one of the dirtiest running clubs in the world.
Does Farah count as "European"? He and ol Jama are thick as thieves.
Top 4 all Ethiopians . . . curiously fast time . . . hmmmm . . .
That was one of the most obviously dirty performances I've ever seen.
I couldn't even get excited about it.

Why u only talk about dopping

And barega is not 18 he is around 24
Am not talking about his passport age
I don’t know if you are trolling about his age or whether you are in the know and are being sincere! If it’s the latter and he really is 24, then it represents just another reason why I understand so many on here and around the world just don’t trust a lot of the performances that come out of Kenya and Ethiopia; numerous age cheats and many (so far mainly Kenyan) recent busts for doping.
I never believed that Bekele or Geb we’re clean when they ran those times in the 90’s and early ‘00’s. in fact I don’t believe it’s possible for anyone currently being capable of running around 12:48 without some artificial aid. Today just re-affirmed that for me. The way they so easily kept up such an incredible pace for so long, and the 56 last 400m, looking like he’d finished a jog in the park, before then going on that said jog in the park.
Gebriwet has struggled to break 13mins for a few seasons and now runs an easy looking 12:45!
I guess they are innocent until proven guilty, but let’s hope they are being tested to the same level and extent as the rest of the world’s athletes!
I presume they are visited by the AIU as often as Kenya is?

Jakob beat him at WJC this yearin the 5k though!! Barega being the favorite screwed up in 5th place while Jakob came in 3rd place in that race.
Jakob was 2nd, not 3rd. Sounds like you didn’t even watch it.
And most of us thought that 2018 would be the year no one went sub 13. Ha!
congrats Barega poppin bottles tonight homie
