Come on Rojo I don't like Rupp at all but his pitch was way better than Desi's. Granted Desi is 5 feet tall and like 92 pounds she's built like a 5th grader so she deserves some slack but still.
After viewing all these first pitches, here are my rankings, from best to worst:
1. George W. -- Nothing to fault. Form is good, and the pitch is a strike, with decent velocity.
2. Galen -- Form is OK, but pitch is high and inside (for right-handed hitter)
3. Desi -- Form is less OK (the kick is a little weird), and pitch is low and away (for right-handed hitter). I realize she didn't pitch from the mound but I'm cutting her some slack since she is so tiny.
4. Meb -- Can't see where the ball goes, so can't give a complete grade. But his form looks like a cross between a baseball throw and a dart throw. Clearly not a baseball player as a child.
5. Carl Lewis -- Man, could that guy run and jump! Apparently never threw anything overhand in his life up until that pitch. Looks like how I would throw with my opposite hand if my upper arms were strapped tight against my body.
