If the boys here can’t beat these guys they won’t be winning any medals or anything at the international level
Should be motivation to get better and not just make a team

will be curious to see if there is an appeal for that clip between kipchirchir and hill on the last curve, i couldnt tell if shadrack had enough room to cut in or not.
Hill did give a bit of a shove coming off the turn (in frustration, perhaps). They will probably let it stand. Hill should have been in better position anyway, was hanging in the back of the lead pack in 5th-6th when the pace slowed and had to do way too much work from 2800-2900 to even get into 2nd.
why do you care?

As a Navy veteran, I will admit that I get irritated when I see Chelimo salute when he crosses the finishing line. Who exactly is he saluting? Himself for winning?
Bummed that Ryan Hill didn't finish the top 2.
Shocked at Scott Houston win over Sam Kendrick in the pole vault.
I mean, he's in the army. So presumably it's good PR for them.
But yeah, not wild about a bunch of Kenyans taking all the team USA spots. Little different than guys running for Turkey or Qatar in my mind.

How about they live here? You just don't like that they're "foreigners," probably like old navy guy.
TEAM KENYA!!!

i agree hill probably could have done a bit better tactically i agree. That is the 1 thing i dont like about the Gold broadcast, a lack of replays (although given how they abuse that on the TV broadcast at times, i will take it overall).

American-born distance runners are just not good enough.

Welcome to the old white guy pity party.
7 guys there at bell with Chelimo in front. He blasted a 26.04 final 200 to get the win while Kipchirchir ran 26.39 to finish 2nd ahead of Ryan Hill (26.69). Chelimo's trianing partners Bor and Erras 4th and 5th. The Scott Simmons group keeps bringing it.
I rewatched replay. No way Kipchirhir gets DQd. If anything Hill would get DQd in my book for pushing him in the back but I think it was just racing all around. Results should stand.
Two thoughts...
1.) Houlihan isn't going to be a no name for long.
2.) The WCAP guys are American. Born in Kenya, yes. But they are American.
Hill is clearly getting sick of these Kenyan imports and I can understand him.
What a shame that the taxpayer is wasting money on this WCAP program, which is just exploiting immigration loopholes.

With Gold you can rewind it can't you? At least on a computer you can. Maybe not a phone.
Hill had poor tactics at bell. Chelimo was in front like you should be. He still ran best last lap. Hill was back in 4th. Had too much ground to make up, but Kipchirchir was in 5th, had even more ground to make up and did it. But at the international level you can't make that up and expect to medal. At US level you can get buy with it.
Are you guys upset about Hill pushing Heath too?

Big shove.
https://twitter.com/letsrundotcom/status/965015057666117634I started another thread about this. I'd warn those guys to cut that crap out but let it stand.
http://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=8678962you can on the computer as well, but what you sometimes get with the TV replays is the alternate angle. With gold you get the initial shot (albeit as many times as you want). Overall though i was incredibly impressed with the gold performance today, hope it is the same tomorrow.

So you condone Hill cheating (shoving competitors) because they are better than him?
Yeah that was a bit of a questionable last 100. I think it looked like Kipchirchir cut Hill off when he tried to cut in after making the pass around him, which threw Hill out of stride. But to be fair, Hill shouldn’t have let him pass if he wanted to be top 2. Too bad Cheserek isn’t a US citizen yet, I think he would have won this race.
God I'm sick of these trump supporters who are made that people of color are beating our "all-american whites"

You want to make US T&F like the US Olympic team? Getting whipped by Canada, Norway, Netherlands. Tied with Austria and Japan.
