As a US distance running fan and someone who lives in the US, it is meaningful to me when I hear where a runner went to HS and college. When the answer is Kenya or Uganda I lose that relatable perspective.
If I were king the rule would be: not eligible to compete for a country until you have been a citizen for four or five years.
