If there was an actual audience for this sport, it would be on broadcast TV or on cable.
It is such a small niche market that any attempt to broadcast an event like this is a money loser.

Vpn Unlimited is what I use when I am at school teaching and such.
Don't want the Principal and IT department to know I am on facebook all day when I should be teaching kids!!!!!!

Hola is high risk. Some have claimed Kiddie porn people can download illegal stuff and it could be raced to your IP.
A paid for real VPN is a better option. Period.
Do you have a quality VPN to recommend? Are they all pay or any free ones out there?
How about Dubai, is Dubai on the list?
Flotrack is the effing grinch who stole Christmas

I use IPVanish. About $75 per year. You can connect in 60 countries around the world.
People would feel a lot differently if an event WASN'T going to be shown and a company decided to cover the event and charge for people to see it. This event WAS going to be shown (at no charge). Why would anybody be happy that they would now have to pay for something that was going to be free?
I don't even know why flotrack wastes their time on running. Couldn't they make much more money flying to areas of natural disasters, buying up all the potable water and selling people monthly usage contracts before they let them have any? I am sure people desperate to live would be much more willing to pay than a few running enthusiasts who can just wait a couple hours and see the results of the race. They could charge $30/month and dole out one bottle of water per day to each of their customers.
Has anyone ever watched a FloTrack video and thought to themselves: "wow these guys are interesting people covering my sport".
I know I haven't. The owner is just another balding midlife crisis subhuman that parties with college kids each Olympic Trials.
Then again I don't get boned up to watch 26.2 miles. I wait for Rojo to post the last 30 seconds - 1 minute of the race, reading the post race report.
HARD PASS.
A Flotrack subscription costs 150$/year. That's about 12$ a month, or the price of a meal at McDonalds. Are you that poor, guys?
Lol I don't understand the complaining. Multiple times I have downloaded and set up a VPN in under 15 minutes... It's literally 15 minutes tops of sitting at the computer and you can watch for free.

You have not been paying attention.

Poor people aren't paying $12/meal at McDonalds. McDonalds also doesn't charge you a monthly subscription before they let you order a couple items off the dollar menu.

I dont understand the complaining. It costs money to film and fly. But in your mind, flotrack is bad because they want to cover their expenses. Do you guys not see how selfish and entitled you sound? Video coverage costs money.

Which VPN do you use for free?
Are people complaining that the FloTrack executive team is brilliant?
Are the Johnson's realizing that they are being out-played in this space?
Kudos to FloTrack for being savvy and smart.
Letsrun has a phenomenal platform but does not want to invest (or raise the money) to modernize the site and make it something amazing.

The one that allows other users to use your IP bandwidth to do with as they please.

Flotrack isn't flying over to Dubai to film the marathon. They are just buying the rights to the broadcast and holding it hostage unless you pay them to see it.

it was free before, it only costs money because flotrack paid for it. If you'd been using a running trail in your local park for years for free, that'd be pretty cool right. Now you're doing a tuneup for an upcoming marathon, or at least planning it, this is your most important workouts of this training cycle, only some guy has purchased the trail. He charges you $20 for a single run, or you can use it for a year for 150$ if you want. The city maintained the trail, but this guy has deliberately decided not to, decreasing its quality, and sometimes goes out and damages the trail for fun. Also, he covered up the beautiful overlook of a lake with billboards, all you can see is billboards and just a smidgeon of blue.
that is what flotrack is like
Will this be the official discussion thread for those of us who can't watch the race in real time?
