I had tied Ryan Stoll earlier that year at Bloom Invite. Our state meet finish was the closest at the time in the history of the meet and that's why you see it broke down to the 10th of a second. People often ask me what time did I run. My answer is always the same, fast enough to win. I wasn't going to pull Ryan around for 2 3/4 miles and lose in 14:05. The next year Ryan ran 1:47 at Stanford and I ran 14:10 for 5000m on the track. Cheers fella's!
