What on Earth are you talking about?
I see what he is saying. She does come off a bit rude. Goucher has said in the past that no one wanted to coach her, that they begged Salazar, he agreed, and she was so grateful. Now after she's made her cash, she is willing to throw him and Nike under the bus. They had no problem keeping quiet when they were getting paid.
I don't think the tweet meant much at all but I do think it was childish on her part.
So a writer on deadspin is as clueless as some of the posters here. Cool.

How is pointing out that "run dirty" is not the brightest PR slogan a childish or rude act? And even moreso, how the hell is she throwing Nike and Salazar under the bus with that tweet?

I still think it is a clever slogan. It reminds me of the Lance Armstrong commercial from years ago with the clever line, "What am I on?...I'm on my bike..."
If you think the double meaning in either case wasn't intentional, you're wrong. Yes, the Lance commercial ended up being a lie, but I didn't see any pro athlete featured in that poster that Goucher saw.

There is absolutely nothing in that tweet that could be construed as a shot against Nike. Some of you have awful comprehension skills, but I guess that Kara haters have never been accused of being intelligent.
Tell that to Olympic steeplechaser Billy Nelson who seemed to see it as I did further down on her twitter page. I do not hate Kara. I am friends with close friends of Adam and have met him and quite like him, but her schtick is getting old. She may have a legit gripe, but leave Nike well enough alone.
Are you guys idiots?
You realize her livelihood is running and running related issues.
If she comes out and says it, she's ostracized, sued, and so forth.
More than likely she has told authorities what she knows and has to put faith in that.
Did anyone pay attention to lance armstrong?
You guys suggesting "put up or shut up" live in your own little dreamworld and obviously have done nothing of importance in your life, ever.
Or was he "just kidding," hint, hint, too?
Maybe she can have a fling w/Symmonds and write a tell all.

I don't mean that, but Nike is a major supporter of the USOC, IOC, USATF, and the IAAF. The USATF owns the national professional running/t&f circuit and the IAAF owns the Diamond League, which is the international professional running/t&f circuit. Nike's presence is almost omnipresent. When you have a beef with Superman, you don't pull on his cape, you need kryptonite and if you don't have any kryptonite, you should keep your mouth shut.
You're an ignorant fool. It's clear that Kara was pointing to the ill advised slogan and nothing more.

If I saw Billy, I'd tell him he is just as much of an idiot as you do.
What is the schtick here? How are you possibly construing it as a shot at Nike?
You're making my point for me. That's why she should just shut it and trust the system.

I'm getting dumber just reading the stuff you guys/gals are posting.

Can somebody post it?

Do you know the writer of this piece? SARAH BARKER. The wife of Dennis Barker the coach of Team Minnesota that was caught in the middle of the Salazar blow up at Indoor Nats.

It's not pathetic. People on both sides are way overreacting.
Goucher's tweet was funny. It's the type of photo we might put as "Photo of the Week" in our weekly recap.
Now since she's an ex nike athlete people are going bonkers and claiming she's insinuating something. I think she's just talking in general.
re: "since she's an ex nike athlete people"
That's what makes it more than "just talking in general:.

If you signed some foolish clause then so be it, but I f folks care about the sport, KNOW things are going on, then make a change and start squealing.
Otherwise it is just a lot of stirring the pot. Let's not forget she was Nike for sometime and was a Salazar gal for some time.
i don't think she was referring to anything going on inside Nike. I'm pretty sure she was referring to the Russian doping scandal that everybody knows about. I think it's nothing more than that.

If this is how you see it, maybe a few others will too, and it will have the desired effect. But the difference is that "We run dirty" does have two meanings ... as in trail running (on dirt) and also not running clean (i.e. using PEDs). By saying "We run dirty" you ARE insinuating something that they probably don't want to. I doubt this was innuendo, they just couldn't think up anything else to appeal to the gangster-worshipers that like things like "Riding dirty".
Armstrong's commercial did not. When you say "Everybody wants to know what I'm on, what am I on?" it has only one meaning. It is a direct question asking what drugs are you taking to enhance your performance.
He shot back, "I'm on my bike, busting my ass, six hours a day. What are you on?" This deflects the implication (from the public and critics) that he was using drugs. It turns the tables on the accuser and the accusations (that were all over the place 14 yrs ago when this was made). Do you see how those are different?
If Nike had perhaps made an mtb-related ad that read, "We ride dirty!" It would be the same thing, with a meaning related to the subject matter and a veiled meaning (that not everyone would see) and it would be still ill-advised.
If this happened and a pro cyclist pointed out that this was a bad idea, I doubt anyone would say he was making opaque references to systematic doping by someone at the brand. I think they would just agree that it is a bad idea, no matter how much promotional value "We ride dirty" might have with millennials.
stupid slogan,
about as bad as ' lets taste new tab!'
she tweeted it over her morning coffee. . .stating the clearly obvious.
btw (the zapruder film was altered, it was phil knight on the grassy knoll).

Pretty hypocritical given she ate at the Nike trough for many years. She had an opportunity to display moral courage and chose the $$ instead. Now she's casting aspersions as her times and career trend downward.
