Huh? The only thing that atheists have in common is that they don't believe in any "god(s)," so I'd have to think that there's a pretty wide variety of things that different atheists "recommend" (though I'll grant that church attendance might not be part of that variety).
Anyway, I met my wife in an adult-fitness class I was teaching at the university where I was coaching. We were both 30+; she was earning an MBA, having realized that her Yale Ph.D. wasn't going to get her anywhere, financially speaking. Our 25th anniversary is this spring.
Meanwhile, the relationships (three) that led to my deeply-conservative sister's marriages each began with regular attendance in a born-again, evangelical church.
