great job ladies!
great job ladies!
She split 4:10-11 yesterday. Keep in mind that there are no prelims for these relays. I assume there will be in Sacramento for the 800s at least
In less than three months, Chanelle Price goes from having a job and no sponsor...to 2 gold medals (and a sponsor). Very happy for her.
This is a great meet. They need to tie this to the big meet in some way.

Brenda Martinez anchored USA to gold:
Cannot watch Manzano youtube video as it is marked as private - Is it supposed to be restricted?
One hell of a relay leg by the world's best triple jumper against one of the worlds best at 400 in the 400 runner's event. For all purposes, the 4X4 was over as soon as Merritt got the baton.
What could Christian Taylor do in the decathlon if he set his mind to it?
OK Ovett we get it, the Bahamian 4x4 team are the "Golden Knights", time to retire that epithet.
On a side note, Merritt took a stupid risk by pulling up before the line like that. Talk about risking pulling a Makhloufi (although I suppose the Bahamas weren't exactly as close here).
The Bahamas radio broadcasters are excellent. Great knowledge, great enthusiasm.

The Kenyans swept the 4x1500.
I'm amazed at all of the baton exchange issues that have happened over the course of this weekend. You can bet a lot of teams returning next year will be doing more work on the technical aspects of these relays.
Slower teams like Japan and Germany perform above what their PB's might indicate because of how smooth their exchanges are, imagine what some of these faster U.S. teams could done at these World Relays with better hand-offs.
Teams like Germany and Japan (and Ukraine, which did well today in the B race) don't have their top runners picking up piles of money in DL races. The top NCAA teams (Florida and TAMU) would have been 4th and 5th if they ran their season bests today, so you can't just put anybody in there, and there's the rub. You need our best people practicing together if we have a chance to beat Jamaica, and they don't want to do that any more than they have to because it reduces their earinings. Also, I think one of the advantages the US women have is that they make safer passes.

Time to send him to Louisiana to live with the other people who can't pronounce "baton."
Wilson was the best though, She ran a very solid 1:58/1:59 and got an extra 5 or 6 meters at the end of her leg on Kenyan?
Where is the DMR??

I definitely agree that Wilson had the best leg, during the race I was thinking: "Just hold her (the Kenyan) off, if she passes you it's over". Hold her off she did, Wilson was fearless and didn't back down, excellent tactics and what a way to redeem her unfortunately passive tactics from World Indoors.
A DMR wouldn't be possible without having a 5+ day championships, otherwise the talent would be spread far too thin.

Thankfully they did not even think about including that horrendously stupid event.
DMR is awesome def the best indoor event at NCAA's. Might be tough to field teams with the 4x800 and 4x1500 over the weekend I do agree
