So none of you guys realize that he's just running the marathon for fun? He's just in it for the experience of being a normal person in the race this year. 3:10:34

have some faith. you wouldn't say that about Webb for a 1500m.
2:05:55 is my prediction. He will start. It's too late to scratch.
My wild guess, he will finish and run 2:07:46. We will be there to watch him!
2:13:05. The Africans will break him but he will hang in there. Unless its wind aided, you guys are crazy with your fast times. Boston is a tough course.
2:07:46 if he high-fives everyone like last time.
2:05:55 with no high-fives and wasted energy.
:)

That's precisely why he's so frustrating.
I'd be happy if he did well, but I at this point I don't expect him to start races, let alone finish them.

Sure like when Deek ran 2:07, virtually all alone. So he can run 2:07 and Hall can't run 2:06/2:07?
As someone mentioned, Hall ran 2:06 in London. The guy is very capable and he's no wimp as he's set the pace in several races.
If he's on, he will do fine (yes, no one knows if he will be, but I'm on the positive side and would like to see him do well).
Winning?, not likely, but representing well, absolutely. 5 days out the projected high is 58 degrees. Hall will be fine and he "can" run 2:07 flat on that course.

I doubt it will be a DNS now that we've gotten this close and haven't heard anything. It is true that pretty much every marathon he's finished has been a "good" one. I think this will continue that streak.
Barring unusual conditions, I say he runs 2:07:34 - up near the front most of the way but holds steady and can't go when the eventual winners make their move.

just who is "our"
As far as I know kipsang is "our" best.
you're a moron
If he finishes, 2:09:24
How can anyone really think that Hall will run 2:06-2:07?
On which indications are you basing this? What has he done in the last 3 years that would indicate that he could run 2:06 in Boston? Remember Desisa won last year in 2:10, and that is a pretty normal time to win Boston with.
Forget 2011, wont happen again.
I think he will run 2:12-2:14, if he finishes.
If he starts, he wins. 2:05:36.

He'll run, finish, and do well. My prediction is 2:08:15 for ... fourth place, behind Kimetto, Desisa, and then Gebremariam, who'll be spread out 30-45 seconds ahead of him.
I think people are underestimating him and underestimating the difficulty of the Boston course. Yes, it's net downhill, but look at the quality of the winners over the years and the times they ran without pacers. The downhills in Boston are not long and easy - even the early downhill miles have rollers in them. Historically, without pacers, the winners don't hammer the initial downhills either. And the positioning of the Newton Hills is just rough.
The same elite runner who runs 2:04/5 at Paris/Berlin/London might run 2:07 in Boston, and 2:08/9 in New York.
2:08:15. Fourth.
I heard he is pacing the Olympic Trials hopefuls
Way to respond to your own post.
I'll be back Monday afternoon and bet that over 50% of your prediction will be wrong.
Prediction:
You won't be back.
You will respond under a different name, giving yourself credit.
You won't break 3 hours in a marathon...ever again.
My 2:23:17 pr, although admittedly slow, will always be better yours.
Ryan Hall is a HUGE talent who still has great races left in him. I agree with those who say he won't win, but when he runs fast, they'll still rip him due to their own running insecurities.
I no longer care what he does.
2:05-2:08 = HALL IS BACK BABY!/ wind-aided/ LRC shuts down
2:08-2:10 = HALL IS BACK BABY! Boston is TOUGH!
2:10-2:12 = Good to see Hall finishing strong.
2:12 - 2:15 = A missing person is finally found:
It's years later and it's a dead body, but at least the family has closure.
2:15+ = Won't happen, he'd DNF instead.
