This really is fascinating to me.
You have one of the, if not the, most highly rated shows in the history of cable television.
You have a highly right leaning audience.
You have something said that riles up left leaning people.
The network that lucked out with this hit show suspends the offender to dodge what would almost certainly be an all bark and no bite outrage from the left since it's just par for the course for old redneck guys.
The actual audience of the show then goes berzerk.
The network doesn't want to lose its golden goose, but now they've already picked a side.If they reverse course, they're probably even worse off.
Either way, suspending that guy is going to cost them millions.
Also, plenty of those sponsors could weather the storm from these people boycotting until they get bored, but I guarantee that Bass Pro Shops would be devastated if only a quarter of the people who watch the show shop there and only a quarter of those people boycotted.
