Weird that nobody is mentioning Estrada after his HM win.
2016 USA Olympic Marathon Team Trials (Men)
Lead pack:
1: Ritz (5'8")
2/3: Ryan Hall (5'10") and Rupp (5'11")
4/5: Teg (6'4") and Luke Puskedra (6'4")
Chase pack:
Ryan Vail
Brett Gotcher
Tyler Pennel
Jason Hartmann (6'3")
Aaron Braun
Jared Ward
Scott Bauhs
Christo Landry
Craig Leon
Max King
Sage Canaday
3rd pack:
Fernando Cabada
Nick Arciniaga
Daniel Tapia
At least, Jason Hartmann's reshape, Ryan Hall's recovery and Galen Rupp's 26.2 mile marathon make are needed.
In addithon, Mo Trafeh is banned (due to doping violation) and Meb Keflezighi is too old.
Why do people continue to overlook Jeff Eggleston? He currently has the 3rd best marathon time (2:10:52), behind Meb and Ritz.

Jason Hartmann is retired
This has to be a troll post.
1. Rupp is not running the marathon trials.
2. Puskedra's marathon PR is a 2:28. You think he's going out with the leaders?
3. Ryan Vail, Brett Gotcher, Jared Ward, and Tyler Pennel all have better marathon credentials than Teg.
4. Putting Sage Canady and Max King in Pack #2 is idiotic. Have those guys even qualified for the trials?
5. There is no change that Cabada and especially Arciniaga would let the chase pack go. Those two will probably be leading the chase, along with Eggleston (who didn't even make your list), Pennel, Ward, and Gotcher.
6. Do Scott Bauhs and Jason Hartmann even run anymore?
Tegenkamp is not 6'4" either. MAYBE 6'2" tops.
I did not notice before that Meb is missing.
Bobby Curtis and Jake Riley will both finish in the top 6. This is if the entire field runs well. If any of the top 4 have an off day they will move up.
Top 4 all have question marks.
Meb
Hall
Ritz
Abdi
All 4 have run sub 2:09 during their careers.
They will beat Ward, Vail, Eggleston and Arciniaga. All of which deserve to be part of the discussion. NO ONE WILL MAKE THE TEAM ON THEIR DEBUT.
Estrada might
Mileage is way too low. His talent can hide this in a half but not a factor in the marathon at this stage of his career.
Estrada is coached byVigil who struggles with the marathon. Deena is a huge outlier in his 50 year career. Never coached a sub 2:12 which is amazing considering some of the talent he has worked with.

I agree that the BIG 4 all have question marks. Ritz will likely not be 100%. Abdi will have a tough time pulling another miracle and he hasn't finished a marathon since the last trials. Hall has checked out and Meb is getting older and slower to recover and he will run NY which is 11 weeks from LA.
Meb: 2015 retired
Abdi: 2014 retired
Jason Hartmann: 2014 retired -> June 2015 comeback (?)
Josh Cox: 2013 retired -> June 2015 comeback (?)
Galen Rupp: June 2015 marathon debut (?)
Mo Trafeh: banned due to doping violation
Jason Hartmann is not capable for NCAA coach. Saginaw Valley State University should change coaching staff. (Jason Hartmann -> Brian Sell)

Why do people keep mentioning Teg? There is absolutely zero chance Teg makes the team at any distance.
He had a great career. We should all respect that. But it has been over for him for a few years now and this notion that he will be any kind of threat at the marathon is pure fantasy - and the worst fantasy at that, one with clear counter-evidence readily available.

Will Ryan Hall withdraw from 2016 marathon trials?
