I never said he was in the boat armed. Reports indicate he was unarmed at that time.

Not true , his brother was firing the gun , not suspect 2. One shooter.

It could have been anyone in those pics.
I don't think there was more than one shootout going on in Watertown at that time.
Also, when firing at the boat, those cops didn't even know who they were firing at. They assumed (thankfully correctly) that it was white hat, but there was a tarp over his head.

plus the fact that they were quoted afterwards as stating they'd prefer to take him alive.
As one who really doesn't have a whole lot of problems with the police handling of things here including the way they went house to house annoying the ACLU people to no end...this action was a bit odd to say the least.
If they knew it was the kid, once he's blown up 200 people, shot at some cops, probably killed a cop and thrown explosives at them I think he loses the right to be considered unarmed while in hiding.
How did he shoot himself in the throat without a gun?

When police are in hot pursuit of a suspect that has already killed an officer, that was in a shootout with police, who tried to run over police, and who may have bombs or be wired with a bomb, they are not limited to using lethal force in response to actual lethal force. Any move on behalf of the suspect that could reasonably be perceived as a preparation to use lethal force or a refusal to comply/surrender can be sufficient grounds for firing on a suspect, especially if the suspect may have an exposive device. Police are not obligated to take a bullet or a bomb blast before firing on a suspect. Dzhokhar could have surrendered, but did not, leading to a deadly standoff with police. Also, in big manhunts like this one, police often mistake their own fire for the suspects and mistakenly report that the suspect was exchanging fire. Finally, any notion that there was some conspiracy to kill Dzhokhar in order to cover up the truth is easily dismissed by the fact that he lived. With that many high caliber assault rifles pointed at him, if the police wanted him dead, he would be dead.

So they fire twenty rounds into the boat and then try to say the gun wounds to his neck and head were self-inflicted. Now investigators reveal that he never had a gun in the boat. Come on guys, this is pathetic. It's no wonder people don't trust cops.
The guy is a violent and deranged Muslim, so obviously the cops were being careful. The only issue I have is with the police department apparently misinforming the public that the guy had shot himself. They should have told the truth from the start.
Why did they want him taken alive? to question him and gain intel. As soon as he starts to sing the judge shows up and mirandizes him. They should have shot him to pieces!!

So his admission of guilt violates the 5th and 6th amendment and cannot be used against him? or what
Don't forget the 2nd amendment. We wouldn't want that to be violated.
I have read the criminal complaint against White Hat. The sworn affidavit detailing the facts of the case does not claim that White Hat shot a gun from the boat. It alleges that there was a "standoff involving gunfire."
Some law enforcement authorities may have believed, reasonably or not, that there was a gun in the boat. This hardly matters. It is not alleged in the complaint and is not a fact upon which the prosecution is basing its case.
As an aside, I saw video of the gunfire into the boat. There were dozens and dozens of rounds fired into the fiberglass, which would do nothing to offer any protection.
I could not understand how the kid got off any shots without being instantly killed. The story now makes more sense. The cops were probably shooting at the tarp and boat opening, but the kid was further down.

Has it been confirmed that the little demon was shot in the throat? If so, has it been confirmed when he was shot in the throat?
Sorry, to ask what are probably obvious questions to others in an attempt to help your quest for knowledge.

An interview with the swat guys who retreived the young lad from the boat saw them say they thought the neck wound looked more like a laceration from a knife than a gunshot.
There have been unofficial reports - including live TV reports during the boat standoff - that the police were using non-lethal ammunition. I have seen pictures of the boat and am not sure if rubber bullets would leave those marks. Anyone with more knowledge of that kind of ammo care to chime in?

After the tactical guys showed up, they told the shooting cops to back off. They they used flashbangs which is probably the non-lethal ammunition you speak of. Flashbangs are just what they sound like, a flash and a loud bang. They are meant to startle and stun.
I was referring to the rubber bullets.
That website is wrong. There were no rubber bullets. What you see in that video are flashbangs.
He killed a cop the night before and blew-up people 4 days earlier....who cares if he had a gun or not under those circumstances..
It was also reported on local tv, before the flash bangs were used. I don't know if it's true or not, just saying it was reported.
