BUMP.
Your reading comprehension might be fine but your racing predictions SUCK ASS!
My prediction wasn't wrong lol
He didn't break 7:30

Don't think anyone would argue with that for a second.
Farah better watch his back Rupp is no joke.

Absolutely legit. If he hadn't had to lap people, that 7:30.16 would have been a 7:29. Ventolin probably doesn't help his case with all of the "moron", "idiot", and "drivel" claims, but his claims are solid.
Neither myself or my good close personal friend Ventolin started out on these boards with an edge or using such terms as you mention above.
It just seems to be the way around here, all too often, and it is understandable if he deigns to give as good as he gets every so often.
I've always appreciated his analysis, and have said as much on previous threads.
Dude does a pretty darned good job, interesting and usually accurate as well.
! Good on Vento!

Besides the fact he ran 7:33 3k 2 weeks ago, but don't let facts get in your way. No chance Rupp goes sub-7:30 indoors.
Hey Fluffy...you just gotta admit you look pretty silly right now. There absolutely WAS a "chance". And to "Canova>God", you now have your proof that he IS in better shape than 7:31 to 7:33 right now. Hahahahaha

He definitely lost at least .16 seconds having to go around crappier runners to lap them, so he's clearly capable of sub 7:30.
whatever happened to that idea/rule that if you are going to be lapped you have to move out into lane 2-3?

Whoop-dee-doo, .19 seconds to save your @ss from being wrong.
Your still a moran.

Galen has had a nice little career, even better than I thought, but he has reached his ceiling, and I am nothing if not an expert on ceilings.
How do you even think of crazy crap like this? Expert. Bwahahahahaaaa....
impressive performance. as I said before, he didn't look fresh at all, not himself, during that previous 3k, the 7:33, having foolishly flown back to Oregon from Boston and then back to Boston for the second race, all within one week. Here he had presumably been in Europe for awhile, going for the cancelled Birmingham race and then staying for Sweden, if that's what he did. You need to take some time between long flights and I assume that's what he did for this one. It will be interesting to see what he can do outdoors this year.
BUMMERRRRRRRRR
Haha, you're the man Galen! Congrats!!

LM wrote:I know alot of people look at V3 like he was crazy when he posted that 7:23/7:24 prediction, but that doesn't seem batshit crazy anymore. It's certainly possible Rupp could go a little under 7:30 indoors, so given outdoors being a couple seconds faster you are already looking at 7:25-7:27.
Another couple seconds isn't easy, but it's not impossible either.
Seriously though...what is the limit with this guy. He just doesn't stop posting better times each year. I have decided that it's clearly not a wise move to ever bet against what Rupp may do.
Now I just wanna see him taking on the big boys in a consistent fashion.
it was criminal that the organisers had 8'00 guys in there, guaranteeing rupp woud have to lap them & run wide at the end ( i need to see whole vid, anyone got it ? )
he musta run few extra meters, which meant it was an intrinsic sub-7'30
also, i've not seen any splits, so we don't know how close it was to an even-pace race - seems he had to pick it at the end, so i'd imagine the initial pace was a little on slow side
we need the splits
all things considered, i woud probably call it a 7'28 at perfect even pace & no lapping included
believe me, he is currently in
7'23/7'24 shape

rupp ran a fantastic 3'50.9i, worth on ncaa app/1.08 conversion as
~ high-3'31 outdoors
right now !!
he's a 3k/5k/10k guy ( his size is suited to shorter of middle distances - 3k may always have been his best distance )
he can go 7'24, perhaps even 7'23 outdoors right now !!!
the ncaa app gives indoor/outdoor 3k difference as ~ 5s
if he guns it from shot to tape, he shoud look at
7'28/7'29
another victory for simple math.
this predition is based on some pretty simple math, which of-course baffles people with IQ=80.
now for the 5000m. if gallen stays healthy and get the right outdoor race, we are talking 61.low seconds per lap for the route.
got it? that is 12:4x and maybe even 12:42.
rupp haters, lets bet.

He didn't break 7:30[/quote]
BTW your prediction wasn't that he wouldn't break 7:30, it was a silly comment that he had "no chance" to break 7:30 which clearly was wrong and pig headed. Your forgiven if you care to admit it was a silly comment in retrospect. I do enjoy being right. Ventolin has a good calculator if you are looking at the race in an "all conditions perfect environment."
