Right and well said.

I've never liked Salazar but I hear his restaurant is pretty nice.
As long as races can be won in 27:30, the americans have a chance.
Congrats to Rupp and Farah, they definitely deserve it.
I wonder what Solinsky is thinking right now...
I saw the BBC feed and except for the first 4 laps when they were focusing on the Brit who won the LJ, it was great. There was no camera on Salazar, so I never saw that part where you could read his lips. Plus you could feel the entire stadium going nuts for Farah in the last 2 laps even through my PC.
Yeah, that's it. The Ethiopians and Kenyans conspired to let 1 American place second. What a maroooon!

Idiotic post. Farah and Rupp could run with anyone in that field in a fast race currently. The Bek of old in record shape, no, but everyone in that field today, yes. The real race will be in the 5k where 3 Ethiopians dominated both Bek's not long ago.
EPO
I'm no elite runner but I've been road racing for 30 years and I know it only matters what you do on that race, not what everyone's P.R.s are from previous races. Mo and Galen delivered today!
Where was Ritz then if it was so suspicious. If they had gone 1-2-3 then maybe there'd be something, but actually the two best runners came in 1-2 as it should be. They probably trained harder than anyone too.

ridiculous. the pace was slow. rupp is known for not having a good finishing kick (remember last year at the WCs?). So a slow race would not favor him. A 26:48 runner with a slow kick is not favored by a 27:30-40s pace.
One of the greatest moments of my life, Rupp for President 2012.

And why are you mentioning Farah when commenting about how the AMERICANS can run with anyone?
I'm new to distance running and just got so freaking inspired today. My dog came running downstairs into the basement where I was and started jumping around the room with me during the last lap.
There are no limits.

When was the last time a white guy outkicked Bekele?
When was the last time anyone outkicked Bekele in a championship? El Guerouj in the 5000 in Athens?

But...he doesn't have a slow kick.
That they were training partners and seeing Rupp scream "Mo" at the end just capped off a brilliant race by two of the greatest distance runners of all time. It really couldn't have gone better in my opinion. Racing is tactical, and Farah deserved the win.
I was screaming at the top of my lungs the whole last 800m, and all I did was crescendo. My dog came running down to the basement and started jumping around the room with me.

So happy to watch this race, even with all the commercial breaks. Man, it was a rumble out there for a bit. I posted to FB two days back that Rupp would medal --- HOORAY!
Well done. Mo and Galen.
I've been an Al fan since high school when I had the chance to run against him in the Dual County League. Saw the back of his shoes a lot. I'm thrilled for him and just busting!
Rupp WAS a 26:48 runner - LAST year, just as Bekele WAS even faster than that, last year.
This year, Rupp's SB is 27:25. Bekele's is 27:01. Rupp closed in 52 in the Oly trials 5000, so he obviously had a kick, but he has shown no overall 10k speed this year at all.
It's this year's form that matters. Rupp's been even slower than Bekele, but he's also displayed an improved kick. So the Africans failing to push the pace and run the kick out of his legs was madness.
I've watched the DL season closely all year, and at 20 laps, I knew who the top 2 would be. The Bekele's, Tadese and Gebremariam, Kiprop and Masai have no kick this year. Their only chance was fast, and they didn't do it. The Bekele's and Tadese were unable, and the others were either afraid or too inexperienced to realize they had to.
If the Kenyans had sent Eliud Kipchoge - totally different race. Kipchoge would not have tolerated a 27:30 pace.
