You mean like Casey Barrett?
You mean like Casey Barrett?
Don't label me incorrectly brother. I'm not a once every 4 years fan of swimming. I'm a NEVER fan of swimming. Either way, Phelps has driven drunk more than once and smoked pot, so I'm definitely not a fan of his. The sooner he's out of the public eye, the better. I hope he sticks to his promise to retire after the Olympics.

You spent a day trying to back up your supposition and all you came up with was this? LOL
Don't waste your time. It's tough to have a discussion with the casual, once-every-four-years-fan. That's why I decline to engage guys like this.

After one particularly bruising practice, Phelps leapt out of the water and started throwing water at some of the girls watching nearby. “I said 'you should be very tired, that's the hardest practice you've ever done',” Bowman recalled. "I'll never forget, he looked me straight in the eye and said 'I don't get tired', so I made that my life goal to see if I could accomplish that."
Great example of his talent, not his work ethic.

I guess most of you have just been listening to the butt kissers over the last few years...this happens when in presence of greatness, and Phelps is a GREAT swimmer, no doubt...he's the best ever.

"...the guy has also missed a boatload of workouts over the past eight years."
I've heard swimming commentators mention this too...say that if he actually focused on training that he'd set world records that wouldn't be touched for decades. There were stories about this just after the last Olympics.
Now this Clary guy.
Also, Bobby, Cindy, Peter, Marsha, Greg, and Jan.
Hey brother. You know that Clary was talking about pre-Beijing and the well reported (even by Phelps) laziness is post-Beijing. Right? Wait a sec. Don't answer that brother.
Also brother, he's held the 200 Fly and 400IM WRs for 11 and 12 years, respectively, just like the commentators said - decades. Brother.

I know I shouldn't, but it's so much fun. I've got a couple of know-it-all guys like this at work too.
