No one has broken 27 mins in that race.
Nor has anyone whose run this meet ever. In terms of PR's, this race is more "stacked" than it was two years ago.
Er....

Is there a live feed of Payton Jordon?

Who will win this?! A lot of people will be factors but who will take the whole thing?
Levins, Derrick, Nelson, Birmingham, Cragg, McNeill, Bairu, True, Bauhs, Chelanga, Estrada, Romero, Braun, Goucher, Vaughn, Gotcher...
I can't help but notice one glaring omission. Who do you think it is?
rich kids should be there with their toy electronics to stream it on free websites.

The most incredible yearly meet in the Western Hemisphere is on hiatus now due to the recession. I hope USATF can re-start the meet soon. The Home Depot meets had the most loaded field next to Olys & Worlds with an Oly & World medalist in nearly every lane of the sprints and hurdles races. It was logistically cheap since most of the medalists who were entered live a few minutes down the freeway from Compton.
We're talking about real running here, not prancing around feeling yourself up.
Will the Canadian record be broken? 27:25

People are severely underestimating McNeill right now. The kid caught Levins and Lalang at Mt SAC that last lap...
He caught Levins? No he didn't Levins won. To catch, you need to tie or beat the person. MNeil was 3rd and Levins was first. Wake up!

Yeah I wanna know this too. Flotrack site is funny....so much detail about so many things, yet I cannot actually figure out if they are showing this or not. Help!

Any info on some of the Japanese runners?
Ugachi is the only one who already has the A-standard. If he's in good shape he should be going for the NR. Sato will be going after the A but could be in contention for the NR too. Takezawa didn't look great at Mt. SAC but has the best 5000m of the season so he might be up there as well. Takabayashi is the only other who might have a shot at the A. Don't really see much from the others although at least university guys Yufu and Murasawa have a good shot at sub-28. If either of them got the A it would be a pretty big deal.
Is Jeilan, the world champion running in this race???
I don't see any clear standouts in this race. Any one of 5-7 guys can win. My money is on David McNeill. I was impressed on how fast he closed in his last 5000m. I get the feeling he is rounding into good form.
Cam Levins...it's as though we are expecting to be peaked already with all the races and mileage he's been doing. Surprises us everytime. Who knows.
Payton Live -- 4:30PM PST on Sunday
Anybody know why there aren't any East Africans running this race? With the relative dearth of high-level 10,000s nowadays it seems like some would want to take advantage of the opportunity to get a fast time.

I was wondering that too. This morning @ryanflotrack tweeted: "section 2 of the 10k will be shown live.. " with a link to the schedule. Does that mean that the Kim McDonald Memorial races (section 1) won't be shown live?
Go Army! good luck to Robert Cheseret!
It would be hard for me to bet against Sam Chelanga unless he is pointing towards and peaking for the GP circuit later this year, I don't see anyone running away from him. He is certainly capable of sub 27; however, it maybe too early in the season for him. If the pace is 27:20-27:35 then I can see him getting outkick.
Just remember two years ago, the only guy anyone was talking about running fast in the Kim McDonald 10k was Rupp.
Solinsky at 10k? What a joke!
Chelanga? He's been injured all winter....
Remember?
