OH AND CHRIS SOLINSKY WOULD DOMINATE THIS BET. He could do a 10k and eat 6 Big Macs in under 30 minutes! (well maybe not, but then again, maybe)

Have you ever eaten more than 2 Big Macs consecutively? I don't think eating 6 in one hour, let alone the 20-30 minutes you'll have, is as easy as it's being made out.
i agree. i don't it's possible, but wish him luck. whether or not he is successful, this could do more for the sport than a 13:54 5k or 29 minute 10k that we saw last weekend. :D
OK, this can be done. But, it's going to be difficult. You're looking at 3240calories.
You're going to get through the majority of the eating easily, then it's going to get really, really difficult - and when it gets difficult (like alllll i wannnna do is lye down difficult) you're NOT going to be able to run.
You're insulin will be going CRAZY. You will not be able to run at a decent pace after eating all of those.
And, the theory of eating the patties first won't work. The meat is going to kill you.
You need to space it out.
Eat 1 - 00:30
Run 2 - 12:00 (12:30)
Eat 1 - 01:00 (13:30)
Run 2 - 12:00 (25:30)
Eat 1 - 01:00 (26:30)
Run 1 - 06:00 (32:30)
Run 1 & Eat 3 - 20:00 (52+)
EASY!
You can do a slow jog while you eat, too. It's worth eating during the last mile if you're way up on time. No use in running and then just downing all of them. You can walk a mile in 15-20min easy and it may help your burgers go down.
Just do it on the track. It won't be that vital if they're warm or not -- you're not eating for fun. You're eating for victory.
Trust me -- I run, I coach and I've done about a dozen eating competitions. This will work.
Get this on video!!!
I appreciate a lot of the responses. Some excellent ideas have been brought up. I think at some point I am going to have to get a top three and have a practice run with each. Just to give everyone a run down so we are on the same page:
1) Have 1 hour once I cross the start line to complete a 10k and eat 6 Big Macs. I cannot begin eating until I cross the start line.
2) I will have a support team consisting of a friend with a stroller. In the stroller will be the 6 big macs and water.
3) Blending of the food is not allowed
4) The food has to be held down at least one hour after completion.
4) The race begins at 7:45 so unless I recieve a special sponsorship the burgers will have to be purchased the night before.
Update on the betting:
A friend has placed $50 saying I can do it but is looking for some odds.
A little over 2 months until race day.
This is definitely possible, but you need to know what you can handle better:
Running with a full stomach or eating right after a hard run.
Most people have a hard time eating much of anything after running hard (blood diverted from the stomach so the food just sits in your stomach in a greasy wet lump) so this will most likely depend on if you have and iron-clad stomach or not.
Try eating a couple big macs before running hard, then try it the other way around. That way you'll at least know which you can handle better.

If it helps boost the confidence in those backing me this isnt my first rodeo as far as eating challenges. I have eaten a pound burger in under 6 min and eaten 20 pancakes following a 5k (no time limit) in about an hour and a half.
I'm thinking the run hard early, eat late concept may be my best approach. I just dont think I would be worth much eating multiple Big Macs right at the start, although I am considering one.
I bet you can do it. I can eat 2 'jumbo jack' burgers with little problem after an hour of running, and I'm sure I'm a lot older than you.
My suggestions:
1) find a good nutritionist and buy a half hour of time for consultation on how to prepare. Ask about how to handle the water, etc.
2) If you're in good shape, a 10K isn't that much so maybe do some more running & weightlifting beforehand to build up more appetite. (You will have to get up early, of course.
3) If the bet did not stipulate otherwise, special order the Big Macs with little or no condiments, lettuce, etc.
6) yeah I think you will have to train. The body adapts to whatever food we give it. See if you work up to 4 and then on race day the exitement of competition will carry you. Ask nutritionist.
I think it's silly not to eat anything while/before running. Surely you can eat one big mac during the course of the 10K without really compromising your speed. Why wouldn't you do this to have one less at the end? Multitask, even to the point of compromising your running speed a little. But I think you are going to want to save the majority of eating for when you are done running - easier to shove down and breathe, etc. Definately dunk the buns.
I say you run the first 5k in 17 mins. Then walk the last 43 minutes of the 5k while eating the burgers during the walk.
Reminds me of the Boonie Boonie challenge!
Trial runs at eating 6 BigMacs is importtan you need a base line timewise. CThe can you actually can eat 6 Big Macs in 20 minutes part may be the biggest challenge since you seem confident that you can run a 10K fast enough to allow you minimum 20 mins eating time.

* what if they come out of the 'finished food orifice'
A real possibility given the exercise and the immense amount of food involved. The expression "Like sh1t through a goose" comes to mind.
Are you allowed to run before the event?
Personally I would get myself into calorie deficit mode beforehand by running an easy 10 miles. This way you get the furnace hot enough to handle the Big Macs. I know some on here have weak stomachs but this is what would work for me.

I'd like 6 Big Macs, hold the meat.
1. eat 3 big macs
2. run 10k
3. eat 3 big macs

Yes I can do whatever before and after. I was thinking about doing some running before as well.
My colleagues are looking at me funny - I can't stop laughing.
Cribbing from everyone above: I think the best solution is
1) Run an easy 10 miles before.
2) Run a 17 minute 5k.
3) Walk/run a 43 minute 5k, eating a bm every 7 minutes. You might have to kick it in at the end. that would be the money shot in the video.
Just like anything else - you just have to break it up into small bites.
If you puke, do you lose the bet? Because I have money that says you're puking if you eat two or more Big Mac prior to running 3 miles or more at 6 min pace.
I've done FUBAR races of different kinds and I don't think you've got a shot in hell.

This would also be something that should be taped. Hope they don't take any sort of Hypocratic (spelling?)Oath.
