Jos Hermens: "It's still too early to talk about a comeback date....The tear is healed but there remains some residue." Will Bekele be ready for Bislett? Will he be at full strength this year? Kenenisa's best days are behind him.
Kenenisa has now pulled of the 3000 in Hengelo and is not expected to compete in June at all...The calf injury is still troubling him.
Yeah I figured June was a litle early to come back after that injury. It looks like he wants to keep his 5000m win streak going from August 2006 so he won't get into a race until he's really ready.
Is this the sort of thing where if he had Nike's Anti-gravity treadmills and all that fun stuff he would be back much sooner?
bekele is human. The same thing happened to EL G,Komen,Noak Ng'eny,Evans Ruto.Bekele's time is up.Aother star will arise.
"....basically you can consider the season is over (for Bekele)," says Jos Hermens. Too bad...Kenenisa will be 29 next summer, and young talent will be knocking him off his throne. He has been a great champion.

what do you have against him? You've been posting the same thing over and over here despite there being no more information than the fact that he's injured.
OK Genius, did you know that he was likely out for the season? IF so, you could have posted this before and saved the rest of us from keeping abreast of his season...
I have nothing against Bekele...the fact that I have opinions regarding his career, which I continually have praised, are unrelated to anything personal regarding the man...
Kenenisa is planning on resuming competition. I realize this is not a very substantive story, but there has been little word from his camp.

Wow, that article doesn't give a lot of hope. He has been injured since Berlin (over a year ago) and "hopes" to resume competition. Good luck but I don't think he will come back at 12:40 level, ever.
The dude needs to WebMD the damn symptoms and get back on track!
He probably needs to wait until they come up with a new undetectable PED.
Champions are never "finished" due to one setback, let alone someone of his caliber

Right. The East Africans have access to drugs that the entire western world doesn't have. Or perhaps we do, we just choose not to use them.
yes, he's had his day
next question?
Can he lift his coffee table. If yes-he's still good. If not, time to move up to the marathon KB.
You understand a year ago he utterly owned Lagat in a 3000m from the gun and ran 12:51 at the end of his Diamond League season also a week after a double which contained a 26:43 10000m? Is that the Bekele that's finished?
People waited two years after 2007 before they called Webb done but they can't even wait that long to call Bekele done?
I don't think KB is finished by any stretch.
I will say that for some reason I don't think we'll ever see him go to the marathon. He doesn't have a financial reason too, and to date he has seemed utterly uninterested in road racing. He's 28 now and has done something like two or three road races, which were not all that spectacular even.
