Basketball highlights? The NBA: It's Unwatchable!
Basketball highlights? The NBA: It's Unwatchable!
The NBA - even the highlights - are ridiculously crappy. Tiger on da green is the crap.
Nat Turner: How can a man you dont know "betray" you? He has no obligation to you. GET A F UCKING LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!Your life is not going to change because Tiger, Bill Clinton, Jesse James, Newt G, or anyone else is getting some stray pussy.
Indeed.
Two words for those who get themselves worked up about Tiger's "betrayal" - American Taliban.
Which is pretty much the same as American Puritans, cf Hester Prynne. See also Salem witch hunts, Joseph McCarthy, et al. Minding one's own business is not something we do well here.
Additionally: feeling betrayed implies first feeling there's some relationship and some responsibility by the other party. Before the betrayal was hero worship, in return for which the worshiper's demand was, more or less, perfection. In the hero's pursuit (golf here) and secondarily, in the rest of life.
For whatever reason mankind has always designated its pantheons of gods and heroes to worship to represent good and evil, power and prowess. In our age the heroes are actual peeps, and generally drawn from sports, politics, and entertainment. Some people get their god(s) from actual religions and don't need to worship celebrities; some others seem to get by with neither religious practice nor celebrity worship. But by and large, sport, entertainment, and political celebrities are the American gods. And gods have responsibilities, don't you know!
this ad has nothing to do with tiger being the victim or saying that what he did was ok, its focus was on forgivness and the ability of athletes to change, move on, and prevail...everybody makes mistakes, including nike, they stick by their athlete and everybody else should jus get off their nuts, bold move by nike, not like anything we all say matters anyways, go tiger
Courage.
You're a 19 year old kid.
You're critically wounded and dying in
the jungle somewhere in the Central Highlands of Viet Nam.
It's November 11, 1967.
LZ (landing zone) X-ray.
Your
unit is outnumbered 8-1 and the enemy fire is so intense, from 100 yards
away, that your CO (commanding officer) has ordered the MedEvac helicopters to
stop coming in.
You're lying there, listening to the enemy machine guns and you know you're not getting out.
Your family is half way around the world, 12,000 miles away, and you'll never see them again.
As the world starts to fade in and out, you know this is the day. Then - over the machine gun noise - you faintly hear that sound of a helicopter. You look up to see a Huey coming in. But ... It doesn't seem real because no MedEvac markings are on it. Captain Ed Freeman is coming in for you. He's not MedEvac so it's not his job, but he heard the radio call and decided he's flying his Huey down into the machine gun fire anyway. Even after the MedEvacs were ordered
not to come. He's coming anyway. And he drops it in and sits there in the machine gun fire, as they load 3 of you
at a time on board. Then he flies you up and out through the gunfire to the doctors and nurses
and safety. And, he kept coming back!! 13 more times!!
Until all the wounded were out. No one knew until the mission was over that the Captain had been hit 4 times in the legs and left arm.
He took 29 of you and your buddies out that day. Some would not have made it without the Captain and his Huey.
Medal of Honor Recipient, Captain Ed Freeman, United States Air Force,
died last Wednesday at the age of 70, in Boise, Idaho .
May God Bless and Rest His Soul.
I bet you didn't hear about this
hero's passing, but we've sure seen
a whole bunch about Michael
Jackson and Tiger Woods.
Shame on the American media !!! Honor this real American please.
Nothing new happened here. Hope he can get his act together. And the ad doesn't bother me.
Come people. Tiger cheated on his wife, but Nike sponsors 10's if not hundreds of football, basketball and baseball players who would be applauded for JUST cheating on their wives...

Well Said
Get off tigers NUTS!!!!!!! So many ppl have cheated and they are not on tv all the time and being hated on. this is just getting out of hand. im not saying what he did was right, but this is his business, not ours.
Tiger Woods is the world's greatest golfer. I don't care what he did off of the greens.
Chas. Barkley was a great NBA player. I don't care what he did off of the court.
Michael Phelps is a great swimmer. I don't care what he does out of the pool.
Michael Jordan was a great, if not the greatest, NBa player. I don't care what he does off of the court.
None of the above, nor many others, care what I do outside of my profession.
Frankly, I'm thinking about Tiger's stellar 1st round today.
Oh and NIKE, it's the #1 shoe and apparel company in the world and a great American business success story. NIKE played the shoe and apparel game and won. Bravo!

I agree it's his business. But then why does he and Nike have to stick it in our face with this commercial? Why couldn't he just go out and play golf?
He can't have it both ways. If it's a private matter, keep it private as best you can. Don't hook up with your biggest sponsor and try to make money off it.
TW is the biggest sleaze in sports today. I've been an avid golfer since the age of seven, that's 40 years now. I've never been a fan of TW. I'd take Jack over TW any day.
You ALL only WISH you were Tiger!!!
SHUT THE F#@^ UP!!!!!!

You do know its Jacks fault that Tiger is in this situation. A few years ago, evderybody was saying that even if Tiger passed Jack in majors, it wouldn't be as good because Jack did it while raising a family. A short time later, Tiger is married. The rest is hiiistorrrrrry!!
Nike and espn will be the ruination of sports in america!
Like the guy from Germany, they started out good, but the end result won't be pretty.
where did the audio of tiger's dad come from? I mean, what did they pull that from?

It was from an interview in 2004 about his mother. Has nothing to do with Tiger. More Nike spin.
