This type of thread seems to come about every 6th month or so..
One of my biggest surprises when running for York was actually the very low injury rates we were having, despite all the running we were doing.
People go on about York overtraining, but from my personal experience, if you are doing too much training and don't know what you are doing ; you'll get injured on the way. Point is - the training at York is actually structured quite carefully and coach Newton is not only a great motivator + person but also has a good sense of building the training & watching the athletes.
My personal perspective is this - also based on what I've seen from my stays in Kenya : problem with burnout comes from too much anaerobic work too early in a runners career - NOT the type of aerobic high load running they are doing at York (which is in fact only training 6 times a week for most).
