Nakamura has a decent lead, but I will wait until 40 before saying she has one it. 109 is back in 2nd Ozaki, her firrt marathon too.
I believe Ozaki is being coached by Chisa Yamashita, silver medalist from 1991 Tokyo WC. That means they stayed at Lorraine's house for a training camp in Boulder! She's run 32:12 for 10000.
Nakamura 150 metres in front.
Ozaki in second.
I meant; Sachiko Yamashita.
A little over 2 miles to go. Ozaki is "only" 30 seconds back, chasind Nakamura hard. How do you read their facial expression, Yuza?
Okay Nakamura is going to win it...but I think Tomo will get the Olympic place.
40k Nakamura 2:18:38.
Even the commentators do not think the time is fast enough.
She's about to enter Mizuho Stadium???
Nakamura has won it...2hrs 25 mins50
Atsuo in Portland is disappointed his favorite Takahashi-san didn't win.
Kano and Hara should be very angry with themselves.
Experienced runners...slow pace...should do better than 3rd and 4th.

Half way in 1:14:43, so she closed in 1:11:07, which might help her a bit (and it was her first race, so that probably would not expect her to lead a faster pace).
Wow! Oshima finished 6th in 2:29. She came back strong...
Q-chan is still running...2km to go.
Thank you Yuza and Nobby.
Got to love the depth of Japanese marathoning. A sizable pack in contention for most of the race in a marathon won in 2:25. And it is considered slow.
And I just went back to see who Nakamura is. Barely on the radar in the news reports leading up to the race. Very cool. Like others, I'm sorry to see what is likely the end of Q-chan's career, but it is exciting to see breakthrough runs.
Japanese broadcast has finished?
The first 10 runners all under 2hrs and a half...hmm there is some depth in Japanese marathon running.
Have fun people...I want to get home for the start of the sumo.
Just want to say thank you Nobby and Yuza.I had Thanksgiving dinner with the Tenmaya team this past novenber.Fun girls.
Hate to say; but I just didn't think Takahashi was ever focused since she parted from coach Koide. She seems to have been too busy protecting her sponsorship than actually performing. I didn't think it was a good idea to go to China for her preparation either--why change winning combination for the first time before such an important race? Just wasn't a smart move to me. She had such a move one after the other. Unfortunate; but quite inevitable if you ask me...
