Let me give you a little lesson in internet access, first. Anyone can log on with two different servers and have to different IP addresses. I can log off my computer here in my office and plug in my laptop to my phone and log on with my America Online and have two completely different IP addresses. As a matter of fact, I can log on with America Online to a different town (it I want to pay for the long distance charges) and have as many IP addresses as I like. Want to try it out? Find a message board that lists IP addresses with each post. Post something from your computer at the office, and then, if you have the capability to then log through your phone line to AOL or something like that and post again. You will see the IP addresses completely change and you never left the office. Then, on AOL, use the search for different area codes. Dial-up to a completely different area code and then post again and you will see another completely different IP address that is nowhere close.
Secondly,
Columbia only had one or two freshmen because freshmen football existed in the Ivy League at all the schools. Now that most of them have done away with Freshman teams, they play more often but they were on the same playing field as the other Ivys when they lost all thos games. It was not like they were playing UCLA, they played other Ivys which, theoretically, were on the same, level, playing field.
You have absolutely no idea of how intercollegiate athletics works if you really think that you have a right to be on a team at your college. If that were the case, no school would ever have tryouts and they would never have cuts. This is not high school. You do not have a right to anything just because you pay tuition.
The student fees which fund the athletic department does not entitle you to anything either except maybe free admission to the events. You can't walk into the tennis office and expect to be let onto the team just because you pay $35k. You are not entitled to great coaching or facilities because you ae not required to attend that college. You have the ability to change schools or not go there in the first place if you do not like what your $35k is getting you. It is not high school where you have to attend the school in your district (unless you have a private school option).
Title IX has NOTHING to do with the right of an individual at a school to participate in intercollegiate athletics. It has to do with making sure that the women athletes that are priviledged enough to be apart of the program have the same resources that their male counterparts do.
I love it when people come on here and have no idea about what the f*** they are talking abouy. And, yet, they are so convinced that they are right that they pund their chest and say, "Look atme, I have the right answers." Only to make an asshole of themselves.
Teacher, Sugar Cane, or whatever you want to call yourself...give it six days, my friend. I was lucky enough to find out who you are yesterday and I even know someone that knows you. Small World. By the way, the mutual aquaintence we have, does not like you (no big surprise) and is very forthcoming with information.
See ya' soon.
