The Romanians appealed the score of the FIFTH place finisher, Voinea. Her score should have been 13.800 (higher than Chile’s score of 13.777 even after her succssful appeal), but the judges wrongly deducted 0.1 points due to stepping out of bounds (video evidence showed she did NOT step out of bounds). The Romanian’s appeal was denied because it was too late. So, they rightfully argued that USA’s Chiles appeal should also be rejected because it was also late.
Going forward, I hope they modify this tight 1-minute deadline to appeal scores, and automatically incorporate video replay analysis BEFORE announcing a score.
I don't think you can appeal an out of bounds call anyways, only difficulty. Agree they should use instant replay in judging.
