Corrigan pissed his pants at the start line & He looked like he wanted no part of that. Mental check out.
This is what happens when you have to hit your absolute peak just to make the team.
Corrigan definitely looked like someone on the downside of their training peak. He is much faster than what he was able to show today, but the motor just wasn’t there.

Ain't no rule against that! Some of you Jager fan boys are hating on Corrigan and it ain't right. Dude beat Jager fair and square at the trials and then nutted up a few days later and got the time. I love Jager but if he wanted that fairytale endin', all he had to do was beat a college sophomore at the dang Olympic trials and he didn't. Simple as that. I may not agree with Corrigan about whether ancient Israelites built a dang submarine and came to America to find Jesus writing gold tablets in Missouri, but I can sure agree that he earned his right to be a freakin' Olympian!

I’m not hating on Corrigan. He rightfully made the team. I’m just stating that more as a fact. It really means that we’re just not good enough in the Steeple right now. And no, Jager wouldn’t have done crap in the Olympics either.

We shouldn't allow some events to chase standards and others to not.
