Not necessarily for distance, but Grant Holloway, Anna Hall, Joseph Fahnbulleh, and many others are still based in Gainesville. The University of Florida has some of the nicest athletic facilities in the entire world, with a full structure of support staff (doctors, trainers, masseuse, strength coach). Given that Valby's cross training program based at Florida clearly is working for her, why change that now?
Not only that she doesn't need a training group as most of her junk miles are on the Arc trainer. She stays put. All the other commercial stuff will come to her for photo shoots etc.
I tend to agree with this...And Doris is transferring over and could be a strong training partner. Perhaps she wants some altitude training, but it seems groups like Dark Sky, NB Boston are receptive to allowing athletes to jump into workouts.
Doris Lemngole is transferring to FL?
I misspoke it is Hilda transferring over! Same difference, however.
Isn't it obvious she needs to run more, she has zero hip extension, will not be world class if else doesn't chill with the elliptical
I think you are confused. Sure, her problems may involve the hips, but ‘just run more’ doesn’t fix it, and can actually make it worse.
Really now, (as an example) how much ‘mileage’ do you think Usain Bolt was stacking when Glen Mills worked over two years improving his mechanics?
I think you're confused. A monkey could restore hip extension, so you can start by eliminating anyone who has coached her and allows her to destroy extension on the elliptical. Also eliminate Ritz, who has zero understanding of physiology. She should appoint her own coach, not a brand slave coach.
Sorry to inform you that America's sweetheart will he a 2 time Olympian at age 21. Remember all of those posts of yours claiming that Tuohy was the best runner ever because the only faster Americans were older than her? Continue to try to destroy Valby. Her popularity is exploding. She is a wonderful person. Everyone loves her. She is our future. Actually, she is our present and future.
First congrats to Parker for running fast times and making the team in 2 events. She has taken advantage of a situation where a number of potentially faster runners got injured (Monson, Henes, Morgan) or decided against running an event (Cranny - 10000, Kelati - 5000). But in life, success comes from taking advantage of opportunities.
Solinsky may have coached her at UF, but most of her success coincided with Palmers arrival. Wasn't she hurt more often under Solinsky?
It seems has done better with the Palmers yes. She definitely seems to have had a good rapport with Solinsky, a rocky start with the Palmers, but seems to trust them fully at this point. The results have been better, and we haven't really heard of injuries...

The more I think about it, the more it makes sense for her to stay in Gainesville. U of F has world class facilities, the coaching structure is pretty good, and I think her consistently training in the heat/humidity of Florida prepares her for championships that are normally in the summer months in relatively warm weather. Dry, cool air of Flagstaff or Boulder may not help as much in the heat, although a training camp or two at altitude could be beneficial.

I love it when people think they know what's best for an Olympian or that Olympian's coach. Yep I am sure you have it all figured out!

The only thing she lacks in Florida is teammates that she can train with, so I'm all for starting a new group there if she even wants that. I'm also for a group and coach who isn't afraid to think outside the altitude + high mileage box.
Altitude isn't good for everyone, especially anyone with a history of bone injuries.
Can someone explain how agents are involved with NIL deals? I'm still confused on how these are negotiated/navigated without the athlete being taken advantage of.
I think if Valby hired somebody to more frequently post something on her Instagram (a picture or short video of her here or there), maybe it would grow.
According to another thread, her Instagram hit 100,000 around June 9 and now has 139,000. Growing rapidly and she doesn't even post often. Wait until she gets all the worldwide exposure in Paris. She is barely known at all outside the US. She could reach 200,000 by the time the Olympics are over.
How is this impressive? Kerley went from 82k to 400k in four months.

According to Parker’s latest Instagram post, she must have gotten word it’s going official; she is headed to Paris!
