That is the aspect that stands out to me. The Monday Night Football formula worked immediately 50+ years ago because it teamed two analysts with one play by play guy. The British track and field version doesn't require this because their play by play guys are former track stars. But it's darn sure needed when you're dealing with Leigh Diffey and Paul Swangard. Diffey wouldn't be blabbing about long impossible time standards if two analysts were overwhelming him.
The field event coverage is so limited I understand they can't justify another guy. But it would be so much better with Dan O'Brien paired with Trey Hardee.
The limited pre race introductions invariably miss some key players. Not only was Mackay snubbed but in women's 100 hurdles I knew darn well they were underestimating the chances of the Florida girl in lane 8. She had stepped up huge in the NCAA final. I watched her yesterday and wasn't surprised at all when she did it again to make the team.
