This thread exposes the LetsRun denizens - it's not really about fairness in sport, it's about a dislike of transgender individuals (which is probably an extension of identity politics).
I fully agree that biological males have no place (pre or post transition) in the protected sphere of women's sports. That has nothing to do with the athlete who won today.
With that said, I will always struggle with the pronoun "they/them" as it sound quite jarring when just referring to one individual person. Trying to get more accustomed to it.
I don’t understand why the news media calls this the fastest 1500m in US history? That’s just not true. What’s so wrong about calling it the Fastest Women’s 1500m in US history?
3:55 is moving, amazing. Congrats to Nikki. All you haters, enjoy acting superior online to an Olympian who could kick your ass sideways without even noticing.
I don't get this. It's not like they're taking hormones to be a man. They're just competing in their sex and that's it. It's just simply not a big deal lol. If they take male hormones then obviously that's a problem. This is the same thing as Nikki saying they're a lesbian. It's really just not a big deal lol Nico Young is gay and it's also not a big deal. Asking to be called "they" is no different than asking to be called Nikki instead of Dominique.

The proper grammar needs to be "it/it's".
So confusing (infuriating) when Goucher talks about "they" referring to Hiltz and then starts immediately talking about "they" referring to the whole field.
I've always liked Nikki Hiltz because she can turn on the speed in the final stretch, flying past the other ladies who tend to lumber along. She's probably the most talented American at 1500 meters.

Well, as long as you insist on making an individual human being running an incredible race into an issue of your views on grammar, consider this.
When you write ‘the proper grammar needs to be <insert opinion here>, you are reversing the subject and the object of a correctly composed sentence. Gramnmar is not sentient and therefore has no needs. You have needs. You need Nikki Hiltz’s race to be about your opinion.
