There are so many signs that disprove the theory of Jakob having a fragile ego: 1. He has lived up to the expectations put on him.
2. He isn’t afraid of putting himself in vulnerable situations on the track.
3. He hasn’t (despite being resourceful and intelligent) gone for a prestigious university education to “hide” his un intellectual background -he just feels secure enough to prioritise his running career for now.
4. He’s not afraid of being a big mouth. And not afraid of criticising himself. And he doesn’t say things to please everybody…

54s last lap, Halberg has done this 60 years ago. Not faster in the 800 than Harbig almost 90 years ago. His kick never will match Ryun's.
0.5 seconds slower in the steeple at age 16 than former NZ great Euan Robertson's long standing NR. 2 Miles WB stronger than Komen's 3k mark and 2000m WR as strong as El G's 1500m mark but doesn't - and likely never will - have the 1500m mark. Just an athlete not worth talking about.
Funny post -looks like people here are taking you literally.. -My only comments are that Jakob won that (first time) 3000m steeple race at 16 years old; I think he could have run faster…

Typical respond from his fan base. He was maxed out in this race under perfect conditions and very likely never will come close. Just list some facts of this mediocre career and the children leave their toys behind to defend their idol.

You've got to be one of the worst informed posters in the history of Letsrun or just one of the dumbest and that's saying A LOT with Rojo starting this thing lol

And given last year's failure, you really think the African would let it be slow again? lol
That's what people said every year during the Mo Farah era. I mean I hope you're wrong and we actually get a fast race because it would be fun, but I have a feeling you're going to be sorely disappointed when we come back to this.
It’s Paris in August, which means it’s almost certainly going to be damned hot. Unless it’s unseasonably cool, it won’t be fast.

Well, you got some of the same charme as Armstronglivs; hope he likes you giving him attention and “mocking” him this way…
You are right, Jakob is not afraid of competing, even if he knows he can possibly loose. He said to norwegian tv after the race yesterday, when asked aboput Nordås being so clos: I think its good for the competition and good for the crowd that there is fighting to the end.
