Anyone else feel like we're finally able to see what Warhurst would do with a complete stud? Can't help but think what could have been with Webb and now we're able to see it with Kessler.
Pretty special what he's been up to so far in '24.
It's still early, but I think the question has to be asked on if Hobbs will have a more successful career than his mentor Nick Willis. Nick ran 3:29 and has two olympic medals, but after watching Hobbs so far this week it's clear the sky is the limit.
Hobbs seems to be in 1:43 low or 1:42 high shape right now for a fresh 800 with good pacing. It will be very interesting what great coaches and mentors like Ron and Nick can do with that considering he's only 21 and has years of aerobic development in front of him.
Preface by saying I would love for Hobbs to have a long, progressive career. But also, Murphy ran 142.9 and 336 at 21 in 2016 and hasn't ran faster. So let's slow our roll here. Many trajectories in play.
Regardless, Hobbs should strike while the iron is hot & capitalize bc form is fickle and you never know of you'll have THIS form again.

Can’t wait till all you dipshxts read the article in a few months or years when they all get busted for it. Watch Icirus. No one is clean anymore. They’re all doped up to the max
If they “all” are doped to the gills - as you say - then who cares?

I would agree with exception
Kessler also ran 7:39 at 20 for 3k in no man’s land

Murphy is one of my favorites, but Hobbs is another level, more like Brazier but with a far better coach.

Anyone could go backwards
I think right now? He would run 7:33
So if we have a 1:43 and 7:33 guy, this is indeed a rarity. Webb ran 1:43 but was he in 7:33 shape at the time? I am not sure. Of course we are not quite sure about Kessler either. But it is not common to have both. Aouita ran 1:43 but no 3000m races that year, although 7:29 the following year.

You're disrespecting Nick Willis
I thought of him as I typed it out, but I still think Webb's talent level was greater than Willis'. No doubt Willis had the better career, but he was more Mr Consistency vs a meteoric talent.
