He is an Olympic level athlete who doesn’t want 9 shots of mRNA goo in 6 month old toddlers. But to you that’s “anti vax religious nut” you do know you can make an mRNA vaccine for any protein right?
No one was making him get the vaccine. He tested positive for COVID. Too bad. Understandable he was upset about it but still bitterly complaining in public 3 years later? He sounds like a giant douche.

Love it or leave it 1st lieutenant snowflake, love it or leave it.
Who should he be pissed at, and how is he getting back at them by not competing?
He should be pissed at the entire system that screwed him.
He has a right to be pissed that the rules prevented him from competing because you train for that moment. Not sure whether they had PCR retests or not. If not, they should have. If they did and he failed, then it is sad but understandable he was out.
All that said he is being a whiner now with his attitude. Man up - either you are in or out if you are making some political statement about not caring about Olympics or not competing.
He may have gained a a few more LRC fans but lost as many if not more with his attitude towards this Olympic cycle.
this is idiotic to blame team USA. He’s an anti vax religious nut from Mississippi who was forced to quarantine by the Japanese government after testing positive. Has nothing to do with the Olympics or team USA. He’s bitter and he will be even more bitter when he doesn’t make the team anyway, he’s currently in 6th
I thought all the people who didn't want the covid vaccine died from covid? Guess covid wasn't so bad after all...
Look, I know this topic elicits some sharp opinions on LRC but this whole thing is beyond ridiculous & t&f media should be ashamed of themselves. Nobody knew what was going on back in 2021. I get the anger from Kendricks. He lost out on money, a chance to win a medal, a chance to grow his brand, etc. It's no different from an athlete who gets hurt before a championship. Be mad that you can't compete. But it ends there. Governing bodies followed protocols in place. Those protocols were developed well ahead of the Games. They were followed at a time when Covid was still an unknown. It's wild to me that members of the media are just listening to him say these things & don't have a single follow up question for him. There's no light pushback. & now real news outlets are picking up this story & just printing his quotes. T&F journalists want to be friends with athletes/athlete adjacent. It happens with dopers or people like Coleman or Knighton who served a whereabouts ban or who allegedly ate tainted beef. C'mon. This stuff doesn't move the sport forward.
No, it was because it was a false positive. I think he makes a good point. The Olympics isn't that important to a professional and the sport makes a big deal of these games because they don't know how to market it the rest of the year.
Athletes get injured all the time. It sucks. He got Covid at a time when it was a liability, and when vaccines were available. It sucks, but he had chosen not to get one. No sympathy here. He does not strike me as a sore loser and a whiner when he competes, but outside the track he seems to be one. Grow up.
Name one top athlete that was harmed as much by Covid as Stewy and Filip were by the jab. Implicit in your comment is the belief the jab stopped transmission of Covid. It didn't.
Kendricks felt just fine and so wanted to compete. Covid did not injure him, nor did it make him sick. Of course he was pissed at being denied his chance due to a test telling him he was sick while he was not sick
One can be carrying a virus and be asymptomatic. It happens with viral infections pretty regularly. Often you have it for a period of time before seeing any symptoms.
He tested positive despite feeling just fine with no symptoms and so was not allowed to compete.
He should be pissed. No idea why you are putting blame on him,
No he didn't. I don't think I can attach images on this message board, but his dad said in a public facebook comments a day or two ago, "No one in our family ever got vaccinated or got Covid. Not even Sam's wife."
The other new information that came out this weekend is that Sam is now claiming he did not go to the 2022 World Championships because they were requiring vaccination.
Sam had a bye to the meet. He vaulted in a few meets that year and then decided to get knee surgery. At the time, that was the reason he was not going to Worlds.
Now he is saying that behind the scenes he was in discussion with officials, they would not let him in the meet without vaccination, so he chose to have the knee surgery at that time when he probably could have delayed it until after Worlds.
Chris Nilsen with some interesting comments too - "My best friend in the world, the best man at my wedding, KC Lightfoot, wasn't able to make this team and I've got mixed feelings about the qualification standards when it comes to making the Olympic team, especially for Americans," Nilsen said.

Amen, "just following protocols" has historically been an unimpeachable defense.
P.S. a major point of the COVID-regime was the explicit rejection of protocols. Complete anti-scientific panic from NIH/CDC/WHO throwing away their playbooks on pandemic response to the Trump Vaccine's shortcuts through vaccine testing.

The mRNA vaccines passed their standard phase 3 trials just like every other vaccine. The EUAs sped up some red tape and OWS allowed rapid trial recruitment. It's a myth that the vaccines were help to significantly lower safety and/or efficacy standards than similar drugs outside COVID.
Regardless, post-approval surveillance has confirmed the vaccines are highly safe and effective.
