True. That's why you steer clear of the very perception. Coz once your reputation is damaged, there is no return.
It's basically what you were all saying is every single athlete is one tainted me away from being perceived negatively. This is yet another reason the sport won't grow this is not even really possible in other mainstream sports lol. Our standards of excellence are a lot
That's some of the most ridiculous bs that I've read here. There are athletes who go through their entire career without any hint of a taint. Then there are some who skirt the edges and then there are others who go full bore. To lump all in the same boat is not responsible. Athletics is about how you can reach the acme of human performance. If you want to do so using chemical means - go to body building. The sport should be able to grow without cheating. If you are going to cheat and use chemical enhancements - there is no point to it.
The guys I know who have taken tren (for appearance) have gotten HUGE. I can’t imagine it could benefit a sprinter going that route, but perhaps they take it via a different protocol/dosing regimen.

Anabolic steroids don't automatically make you huge. It depends how you train and what you eat.
This is my take as well. I'm not by any means a steroid user or involved in that scene, but even I have heard trenbolone has a reputation as some scary stuff (you may have heard of 'tren cough', and it doesn't end there). It would be strange for a top-level guy like Knighton to be using a steroid that has been known about for decades, has crazy side effects, and is easily caught.
This is not to say I think Knighton is clean necessarily, just that his explanation for this finding is more plausible than the typical excuse.
Yeah - tren is the crap 19 year olds in their first year of hitting the gym take, not world championship medalists. Speaking from a strictly utilitarian perspective, it makes 0 sense for Knighton to be taking tren on purpose. There are many, many more steroids on the market these days that are far more effective and far less detectable.
Also, I guess this explains why his agent was so reluctant to say anything about his status.
I think a lot of these are uses to hold muscle during crash diets.
I don’t want to make a judgement based on a report that a court cleared him.
But Tygart didn't clear him. This time USADA tried to ban him, but the lone arbitrator let him off. Must have been a close call if even Tygart wanted him banned.
I highly doubt the tren was actually found in the meat. In that case, it wouldn't have gone to arbitration.
It’s unclear to me if that’s procedural. Recall that WADA and Tygart have fought over this. He certainly doesn’t seem bothered by the decision. It feels like when a league investigates itself in the hopes of no wrongdoing:
“We did what the rules require us to do in all positive cases,” said USADA CEO, Travis T. Tygart. “We can take comfort that justice was served and transparency as required by the rules was achieved.”

Quite likely. Maybe they got scolded after they let Wilson off just like that, and now can't do it again.
It also didn't say why he was able to keep his provisional suspension secret like Shelburrito. Lucky guy, I say.
USADA generally just do that now. Happened last year with Tara Davis, and also the AIU did it last year with Tamara Clark. They probably had a rule change.
This really does put the cat amongst the pigeons. I am starting to ask myself whether the only difference between a lesser country like Kenya and the other countries is the sophisticated ability to find solutions to get athletes of the hook? I can see now why China is not backing down on their swimming doping case. Why can't they also be allowed to present reasons that exonerate their athletes but other can?

No, other countries as well. As was discussed on another thread there are countries whose athletes start showing magical improvements during Olympic years...

Follow the money . Its highly likely richer countries and their athletes have a whole stack of positive drug tests, that they,or the athlete's sponsors sweep under the rug. Its not just the kenyans who are mass doping. Its many sports in general.
