This has been answered before in this thread - 100% New Balance Nationals does not take relay entries from runners that are not from the same school
Otherwise, what's stopping Quincy, Hilby, Griffith, and Simmons from teaming up and just laying down an absolute bombshell
So they check every club to see if they go to same high school? That is truly shocking, where does one high school get 4 sub 2:10 girls in 4 x 8 or 2 boys sub 4 in 1600.
If you are talking about Union Catholic girls 4 x 8, they all go there..obviously not from same town, but do not need to be as they are a very legit Catholic School in Union County NJ. Same HS Sydney McGlaughlin went to
Eh, I'm gonna beg to differ on this one. Not many will have the opportunity to do so (because the 1200 leg is usually the 2nd best runner on the team), but there are north of 20 guys who could go sub 3 over 1200 currently
ahh, you cannot differ my savant like foil, All I said was of all the 1200 splits ever recorded, I bet or said there are 10 or less ever recorded. Obviously a Griffith, the guy who finished second , Reilly , north of 20? Jo Jo, whomever , yeah there are guys s, I would say any guy that could run 4:05 or better could, in a relay , But, as an example the Westfield NJ guys were 1:52/4:11 types and they could not run that, Jack Falkowski a 1:51.x and 4:08 guy from CBA pulled out in a fast 12 , could, in a flat 1200 out fast race, yes, there is another kid a real talent Dale Hall from Pa. who ran 1:51 and 4:06 1600, he could, I would say 20 could, Pajak from Pa could, careful on the 800 guys moving up, there is a reason they do not run the mile. Love the thought process and generally agree.
You may be surprised to learn that there are ~40 high schoolers that can and have run 4:05 or better this season...

Really? 4:05 Mike or 1600? Surprises me either way
Crater is great but it is not good coaching to permit an athlete to race two track 5k's in a day, plus a 1200m, with travel. That's not exactly setting up a good future for the kid.

Couple things here lmao
1. Yes. When you submit an entry, you link the qualifying performance that must be done by a high school. You also link the athletic.net profile of the 4 runners that will be running in the relay, and they literally have to click 4 links to make sure they go to the same school. It takes 10 seconds.
2. First of all, there are schools where the TF/XC team becomes the main sport because of one or more anomalies. Then they start mixing it into youth programs, and it becomes a dynasty (Newbury Park). Second of all, private schools and recruiting.
