On her times Battocletti wasn't even a good NCAA runner at 20.
You remember that there was pandemic ongoing and Italy was one from the most affected countries as the first wave started ? There are only very few races at europe late summer, so 2020 results may not telling the full truth about the shape for many athletes.
I would ban you for stupidity. They have been investing for years into the sport, for a change, and they have been winning medals in all the disciplines, including jumps and throws. Some of them, if you had paid any sort of attention, have grown from the age groups. Some of those records you refer to are decades old. Plus these champs are at home. So about time. And it really shows how narrow minded you are...
Oml you are saying this with zero actual knowledge on any of these athletes. Most of these athletes are around 20-24 and clearly started cheating in 2020. It's so blatant...
Look at the 1500m heats, every Italian athlete went from 3:45 (4 min miler) to a 3:37 and then 3:33. All of this is the last 4 years. What a coincidence bro...
Battocletti has improved a minute over the 5k in the last 4 years from aged 20-24, and 2 minutes in the last 6 years. That is a massive improvement at that age. By comparison, it would be like Valby improving from her present 14:52 to 13:52.
Well, really she dropped 1 minute in a year, from 15:46 to 14:46 at 21. She would have been the age of a junior or senior in the NCAA. Valby dropped from 17:21 to 14:56 in 2 years, at 21.

They're both cheating, like what is your argument??? Are you actually dumb enough to think you can 150 seconds on a fancy elliptical?
Italians have always been excellent athletes. They've won the World Cup soccer tournament 4 times, most recently in 2006. It looks like track and field is becoming more popular in their sport than soccer these days, so it's not shocking that they are improving.
For decades, many of the top USA athletes were Italian immigrants or the children of Italian immigrants. Lindy Remigino (2x Olympic Gold Medalist in 1952), Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra, Rocky Marciano, Joe Montana, etc.

She won gold in Tallin in 2021 at Euro Under-23, so she was the best in Europe at that age. Do you know who was second and third in that race? Lukan (4th yesterday) and Van Es (2rd yesterday). So, if she is doped then probably those two are as well, given that they improved as much as her...
I'm not arguing she was the only runner who was possibly doping. But she was the most conspicuous.

In the pandemic there was very little testing. That's when she started to greatly improve.

Italy has had its good athletes but the point of this thread is these Games are seeing an apparent surge in the numbers. For WADA that's a red flag.

Well only a couple of threads on this guy which is shocking given that I'm going to guess absolutely nobody picked him to even medal in these games (Rojo can we check the comp and see if anyone even picked a bronze?). A lot o...
If she wasn't flat out why was she unable to catch Battocletti?
How was she able to smile?
Are you seriously trying to say that smiling requires effort - at the end of a race? Or are you saying she had more in the tank but was content to lose to Battocletti? Either is ridiculous.
