So Kipruto is pretty much done this year again? Kinda surprised he actually finished
Good return from Bor - 8:13, Olympic standard secured
I was watching Serem too. It seemed like it was working great for him until he got tired at the end. Though maybe how it is for many in the steeple. I think it could be an asset in a slow race for him a la vintage Kemboi?
Firewu in 4th today. You'd think he'd end up on the team behind Girma and Wale but Hailemariam Amare and Samuel Duguna separately ran and won in 8:15 this weekend so that Ethiopian team is not going to be easy to make. Sime hasn't quite been on form yet.
I think last year Firewu lost to Sime by 0.01 SB in the same race before Worlds and was left off
Next men's DL steeple is 2 June in Stockholm then 7 July in Paris once the qualifying window has already closed (30 June it closes)
The thing they didn't say is that El Bakkali didn't use any pacer in this race and that's what announced yesterday in the conference. The guy know well what he is doing, coming from an injury.

but the French press is mean as usual. L'équipe highlighted DL list and announced "Shericka Jackson" as the big event of the meeting. Do they know counting (El B is a 2 WC + 1 Olymp Gold)? the name of El Bakkali was at the dead end of their article and called him "the Moroccan National Champion".
I give the French a century before producing a runner of the size of El Bakkali. They should learn a bit of humility knowing that its North Africa that give them champions.
Mohad Amdouni was the first French European champion in decades after Alain Mimoun.

So Emmanuel Korir had a very poor return to racing. Another Olympic champ - Conseslus Kipruto up in the steeple. I think he might do slightly better comparatively, anything under 8:25 I think would be decent. DNF would not be a surprise though
Low 8:20s would be ok, but it would still make him “done,” right? Koech, Kibiwott, Serem, et al should keep him off the Kenyan team. My impression of Kipruto is that he always had more talent than dedication or professionalism, which doesn’t bode well for a return.
I also think Kipruto is done. We don't need him.
Serem and Kibiwott might just hang on for Bronze. I have no idea who the third guy is. Kenyan steeple is messed up.
