Looked like Hassan was going hard, but in fact the rest are slow. Hassan is on a tempo run.
Since even Hassan didn't run under 14:52, looks like Cranny made a good decision to ditch this meet for a faster race to chase her 5k Oly Q.
Elise is presumably entered in the 1500 at next week's LA Grand Prix then racing the Pre Classic 1500 a week later, so maybe she's found a 5k in Europe after Pre to give it a shot.
Am I the only person alive watching this meet? Hard to watch Jager like this😓
In 2023, he opened at 8:34 (tonight was 8:33.19) but that was on April 14th and he ran 8:17 at USAs and was 6th at Worlds. But he'd run 13:13 indoors that year. This yeark, he'd r run 3:40 and 3:46 in his two 1500s coming in.
Well, on the one hand Hassan just barely broke 15, but on the other, we both know a cooked athlete when we see one. There’s no shame in getting old.

If Cranny was in the race to keep Hassan company, they would have run under 14:50. It’s a perfect night and Hassan would have been a perfect pacer.
Women's 10K was never on pace for Oly standard 30:40, off pace by several seconds by end of lap 2. 4:30 minutes in now... I'm not sure if that was the goal here either.

18 seconds off pace at 3200m.
The most likely standard-chasers all DNS. Strange.
Most exciting women's 10K finish I've seen in a while between US women. Jess McClain and Katrina Coogan dueling it out over the final kilometers with place trading a few times over the last 2 laps.
I'm at the event and I noticed Elly Henes didn't look too happy about whatever caused her and the other standard-chasers to drop out. seemed very last minute. Elly and Emily were both warming up. I didn't even know she was a DNS until they came past after the 1st lap. she sat down in the infield listening to her headphones for awhile, needed some 'me' time I guess. now is up cheering them on i wonder what happened?

Super strange. So she was there and just decided not to run? Maybe there was an issue with getting a pacer?
