He ran 2:01:40 in Berlin in 2019. Were the shoes as good then?
4+ yrs older he must be a little slower but the shoes must be helping mask that?

Can we stop talking about shoes? It’s boring.
I hope Bekele does get selected. How awesome would it be to finally have a matchup between Kipchoge and Bekele at the Olympics?

What a run. But the question is is it enough to put him on the Olympic team?
Slowed down the last 5k but very impressive.
Will the stature of London help Kenenisa get the Olympic team?
Update: Rojo's has a full analysis of Bekele's Olympic chances up here:
Read it and then vote in the poll.
BK made the USA team by 5 minutes = about a mile ahead of Mantz, Young and Korir.

He was asked post race if he will come back to win London and he said no disrespect but no lol I love that he doesn't care that much about it (I hate London and big cities) he just wants to run WR or get gold medal at Olympics.
Good point. Of course both would be incredible but he must have a primary goal. He ain’t running sub 2:01 so does he want gold or will he be satisfied with any medal in Paris?
