Agreed about Maatoug. I've followed Dutch athletics closely for 7 or 8 years. She is easily the best English speaker of the bunch and most interesting person. I think I've mentioned that her older sister is a member of the Dutch House of Representatives. Maatoug did an interview with the Duke school paper in which she said another sibling is the artsy kid while she's always been known as the sports kid.
Speaking of the Duke Chronicle school newspaper, I didn't realize until tonight that Maatoug has a broken foot. Perhaps that caused her to reevaluate everything and contributed to entering the portal. I looked for information regarding her transfer. Instead there was a blurb from the April 22 edition saying she was out for the season with a fractured foot. That is just about the time Stride Report broke the news that she had entered the portal:
Regarding Reckart it's difficult to tell what is going on. She is still listed as assistant coach on the Duke website. But she's had a couple of oddities on her Instagram stories recently that don't jive with still being involved. She was making appearances with organizations that have track and field connections but absolutely nothing to due with Duke or the NCAA.
TSR suggested NAU, NCSt, OR & Wash as the most likely destinations for Maatoug. I'd put a few SEC schools in play also. Another All-American distance runner with a foot injury has done well at FL and the squad needs to replenish firepower (Asekol, Mazza-Downie, Thorner leaving soon). AL may not be the most attractive state in which to live and study, but who wouldn't want to train with Lemngole and Olemomoi every day?

Can confirm she was let go. Source is an injured athlete on the team.
No way you cited tsr as a credible source for possible destinations…. They just list schools that would fit her athletically and take no account of her as an individual.
Amina Maatoug should transfer to Oregon - the women's team is doing well. But maybe she doesn't want to go to grad school there? Idk. I'm not sure what she's studying, but I thought she was on the path to be a pro runner for the NL.
School name means noting. Fools need a school name to be successful
You must be new here. On Letsrun school name is Everything. Maybe 15 schools count, the Ivies, and places like Stanford, Duke, MIT, Chicago, and a few others. Johns Hopkins was on the list but then they ran the Covid information page for a couple years, which had actual facts and that was just too much for Letsrun and it was banned from the list.

All other schools are known as hobby colleges.
Please, 15 is too many. It's 10 at maximum - non Cornell / Brown (and maybe Dartmouth) Ivies. Stanford, Duke, MIT, Chicago. That's it
James Lawrence from Dartmouth looks to be transferring to Loyola Chicago for a Grad Year. He's run 14:13 and 29:44, hopefully coach Kennedy can help give him some stability after what must have been un unstable career at Dartmouth given the situation they're in.

Maatoug will transfer to either Washington or NC State.
