It’s laughable that Rowling is the voice you choose to express a rational thought when she resorts to such base imagery of a man wearing lipstick with his genitalia exposed, preying on women in locker rooms as her version of transgenderism.
The problem is that there is no way to prove someone is transgender. So an existing male sex-predator, of whom there are obviously many, can now latch on to transgenderism as a way to increase his access to females, against their will, but with legal protection. If you met such a person, you might say they "aren't really trans", but it doesn't matter. Your ideology gives them that protection. And some of them are taking advantage of it.
I think we should punish sexual predators the same whether they are men or women. I also don’t think we should ban people from competing in a running race on the basis that a person you have invented in your mind has the same gender identity that they do.
I guess my ideology does make it slightly more likely that your false scenario happens. You can’t produce any evidence of it happening, but I can tell how scary it is for you.
your ideology leads to many young people taking their own lives because they are told that their minds and souls are incorrect. That’s a true thing that actually happens. I make decisions off of facts, so I am inclined to continue thinking that we should treat transgender people with compassion.
I just changed the title to make it more descriptive and make it clear that the athlete is a) a biological male and b) is competing in the women's division.
I have no problem with a trans person competing at NCAAs.
I have a problem with an athlete competing in the wrong sex division.
Gender is like religion - your belief and no one else's business. Sex is genetic.
But this isn’t nearly enough for the dominant strain of trans activism, which asserts that unless freedom of speech is removed from dissenters, unless trans-identified men are permitted to strip away women’s rights - with particular reference to single sex sports and spaces like rape crisis centres, prison cells, hospital wards, changing rooms and public bathrooms - until we all bow down to their neo-religion, accept their pseudo-scientific claims, embrace their circular reasoning, and agree with them when they claim that trans people (particularly the big strong strapping aggressive male ones) are more oppressed, more at risk, and more vulnerable than any other group in society.
This is nonsense. 99.9% of the world knows it's nonsense. The emperor is naked. He might be wearing lipstick, but his balls are swinging in plain sight.
So the vast majority of trans people do not agree with the radical activists?
Then why does she present those activists views as representative of trans people?
Do you agree with her that only a small minority of trans people agree with those activists?
You’re wrong. They don’t want to just be left alone. The rest of us have to referred to them by their chosen pronouns. The rest of us have to welcome them into whatever competition they want. Psychiatrists or pressured, upon pain of losing their jobs, to go along with anyone who thinks they might need transitioning. This is not being left alone, this is forcing me to acknowledge them.
I am very open that I do not accept transgenderism as legitimate. I consider it to be a serious, psychological and emotional problem that they need help with. I am not going to pretend that it’s normal or good. Just because we feel something does not make it legitimate or good, or me, and the rest of the world has to rearrange his self to suit us.
No. World Athletics has rules on trans athlete participation. NCAA has rules. If you don't like those rules, you can always change them. WA did that last year. NCAA's rule will change after this season. And there is no systematic, widespread protest against those changes. The only protest comes from people like Riley Gaines who believe the change is not happening fast enough.
Less than 1% of trans girls in high schools participate in school sponsored sports. That's compared to more than 30% of cis girls. In other words, a trans girl is at least 30 times LESS likely to participate in school sponsored sports. Most of them are into things like music, theatre, dance and arts, and not into sports. The 99% who don't participate in sports cannot be responsible for the 1% who do.
The ratio is even lower in college. A total of 34 trans women have competed in women's sports in NCAA institutions this season. That's for all sports in all divisions out of about 400,000. That number will go down substantially after this season as the new rule kicks in. 99.99% of trans women in college do not compete in varsity sports. They cannot be responsible for the remaining 0.01%.

If it’s no one else’s business, then I think that supports her right to be a woman at all times, including when she is racing. You wouldn’t tell a Christian runner that they have to be Atheistic to compete in a race. That’s their belief, and it’s none of your business, which means you should have no control over it.
Right wing thinking has decided that sports is essentially the only arena of human interaction where biological sex is a factor in separating the species apart. What is another example from life that you think we should create laws to separate the sexes? If you can’t think of one, then I think it’s time you question why you hold on so tightly to the sport one so adamantly.

You are such a dunce. Every post you have made in this thread is full of fallacies.

Wow, I haven’t read anything this dim witted in a long time.

You misunderstand. JKR is saying that virtually everyone on planet earth knows that the claims, assertions and demands being made in the name of so-called "trans rights" today are nonsense - including the most extreme trans activists and their allies.
With the rare exceptions of the true believers - who are are largely young, naive kids and adults with mental health problems so severe that they have a poor grasp on reality - virtually everyone pushing gender identity ideology nowadays is well aware that the claims, assertions and demands they are making are total bollox.

Since when has JKR become a mental health expert?
If that is the case, she is the one who needs serious psychiatric evaluation.

No one has a right to be a woman. You either are one or you are not.
And yes, I would tell a Christian they had no business being in an Atheist's race, if there were such a thing. Similarly, men have no business being in women's races, and transwomen are men. If they were not men, we wouldn't need the "trans" prefix.
That is a profound statement from JK Rowling. However, she is blind to how her attitude and those of others of her social and political ilk have led directly to the problems we now have.
”I believe everyone should be free to express themselves however they wish, dress however they please, call themselves whatever they want, sleep with any consenting adult who wishes to sleep with them.”
A world that allows everything listed above will inevitably lead to men and women, pretending to be each other, and forcing their personal identity on everyone else. In fact, liberals have helped to build the world. We have now, even if they are as appalled, as I am about men, pretending to be women and entering sporting competitions.
typical fascist pig. You want to dictate to others how they live. Pathetic but typical from this deplorable filled site
Sadie is a woman, so she is running in the women’s championship.
Would you be OK with Jakob Ingebrigtsen identifying as a woman and winning the 800m, 1500m, 5000m, 10000m, and maybe even the 400m and Marathon at the next Olympics?
