4:26.47 is 4:26.47. It’s worth better than Ramsden has ever run for 1500. I’m guessing Ramsden will beat Asekol this year but I wouldn’t blithely declare “she is certainly better than Asekol in the mile” after today.
Ramsden pb at 1500 4:08.6 plus she is current NCAA outdoor champ. Maybe not in peak form yet, but plenty fast in a pro race.
Peter Maru of Arkansas is entered in the mens 5000m. He represented Uganda with Kiplimo and Cheptegi at worlds in 2022 with a pb of 13:07 and I think was added to their roster in the past week. What the hell is he about to do this weekend??
He’s a pretty good talent, solidly under 13:10 a couple years back. Weirdly was kinda racing on the club circuit last year in Italy. Oscar Chelimo and Jacob Kiplimo have connections there. But he did run 27:30 on the roads/13:28A early in 2023. He’s immediately gonna be a factor thats for sure.
Late but John Reniewicki won in 3:51.7. Heat 2 Ben Allen dominated in 3:53.1. Lifetime bests for both. I think Allen is a sleeper, he was a 4:01 miler prior to last outdoor season and has dropped 8 second now
