What people? Who should pay? Is there an official registry of influencers with a governing body?
If a sponsor is giving you a bib or the race comps you or the race makes an exception & allows you to run with a selfie stick, you should be drug tested. If a sponsor comps your travel, you should be drug tested. Ultimately this is in the long term interest of the sport. If people keep trying to hit BQs and can't because the influencers they're following don't show the steroid part, then they'll get frustrated and quit. That sells less shoes.
So should the design team for the Pegs get drug tested? They design the shoes, Nike cuts them a check. Their performance ultimately means a heck of a lot more than most of Nike's athletes in terms of bottom-line net earnings.
I'm playing Devil's advocate, I don't necessarily disagree with you, but there are some limits to your argument.
My guess is maybe this guy burned down Sage’s Boulder place. He’s still in Boulder area last couple weeks. Deion Sanders had an interview with him last fall
I don’t care if someone isn’t an “elite athlete” and instead they are just an “influencer” in the running/endurance athlete social media space. If they are abusing PEDS (performance enhancing drugs) that are against the rules then they are flat out cheating and essentially selling a lie. And I simply will never respect that. Work hard, (but don’t cheat) and play by the rules like all the rest of us! #cleansport
Who do you think he's referring to?
Is this exactly "calling out running influencers for doping?" No names, and apparently not even explaining what rules a "running influencer" might be violating. Apparently, he's simply "calling out" people for using chemical compounds to make their bodies more attractive to the masses -- kind of like the way Hollywood actors do. I don't like it either, but I don't have to fuzzy up my reasoning with vague references to unspecified "rules" (is he talking about WADA rules applicable to certain competitive athletes?), "cheating," and "selling a lie" (Is the lie an implied suggestion that such chemical compounds are not being used, and that the bodily changes would be reasonably possible without such chemicals?).
I'd like to see hard sources for the considerable comments about Ryan Hall's alleged use of PEDs. Although my own research has been less than comprehensive, and his change from extreme ectomorphy to extreme mesomorphy raises obvious suspicions, I've never seen him admit to the use of WADA banned substances and have even seen some flat denials. He doesn't strike me as the kind of person who would tarnish his legacy in such a way, so I'm very curious about the evidence (aside from the usual anecdotal stuff that just wastes time).

If law enforcement had to actually see a smoking pistol or blood dripping knife in the hand of murder suspect, almost no one would be convicted of murder.
Piece the clues together.
When R Hall was a 20-something year old, he admitted to having low T-level. A dozen years later, either by touched by God miracle, R Hall naturally produces more T than the average man or R Hall is getting an unnatural boost.
Nick Bare fits the bill but also does Matt Fox. There have been plenty of whispers about Fox being banned from filming certain groups in Boulder, Flagstaff and Oregon due to consistently speaking to athletes about drugs and offering them access.

This is lame take from Sage, especially if it is targeted at Nick Bare as I think many of us would agree.
Bare isn't making a dime from a major running brand. He isn't competing at the international, even local, level taking money and opportunities from other athletes. Is he on the juice? Quite possible. Does it even remotely matter? Absolutely f'ing not.
Sage- Put your money where your mouth is. You have more access than the vast majority of us to legitimate evidence proving doping. Either publish it or shut the computer.
Performance enhancing drugs make unreal performances feasible for elite athletes, and elite-level performances feasible for mediocre athletes.
Kids aspiring to do unreal performances like made popular by social media influencers like David Goggins or Sorokin is incredibly unhealthy. Popular media and even running media writing about there performance as if they are possible for clean athletes sets insanely unrealistic expectations for kids and hobby joggers.
How would you define "unreal"? That seems like a vague term.

Besides the fact that his company sells running gels and fitness supplements and even advertised at CIM, these are solid points.

You have a terrible take. Bare is hustling his own supplements in every video - that’s where he is making a dime. He is claiming that this and only this is what is fuelling his performance when he’s clearly on a bunch of gear. It’s also the oldest hustle in the fitness biz. It’s basically how every roided out bodybuilder makes money. Here take my pre workout or my all natural test booster or these aminos that you definitely need and eat chicken/broccoli and rice ten times a day and you can look just like me!

Have you ever heard of a little known American boy named Lance Armstrong?
Am I the only one that doesn't give a flipping fook that Bare might be juicing? His marathons are basically marketing gimmicks to attract attention to his brand. How many "clean" runners are getting screwed over because he ran a 2:39 at CIM juiced? And even if he is juicing, how much can that really boost his time? Like if he went off the juice is he suddenly going to struggle to break 3:30? If he can run a 2:39 on PEDs his natty time would still likely be pretty damn respectable. SMH, this is strait up beta behavior from Sage.
there's also a decently well known Austin influencer who admitted to taking banned substances recently. Not Matt Choi (lol) but another one in his group.

On the other hand, imagine if we convicted murderers based on how they looked.
