I kinda feel sorry for Kelly. Do you think he ever thinks to himself, "Jeepers, if Phil hadn't retired I'd be so much faster now?"
Bocovich was criminally under utilized until he started doing his own workouts and ignoring Power's advice. One of the former assistants wrote a lot of his training after moving with his wife and Bocovich had the year of his life despite disappearing during Indoor. If he performed like his Outdoor MIAC the Oles would have won. Another Power failure.
The guy set the MIAC record in the Indoor 5K. I think he's doing fine.
In the past year Olaf athletes have set the Indoor 5000m record, run a D3 top 20 All-time Outdoor 5000m, and run a D3 top 20 All-Time Outdoor 10,000m - also a MIAC record.
They may not be as good at the 1500 as they used to be, but maybe Phil will give Power some tips to figure that out.
Looks like many are taking a weekend off after running in the disaster of a meet that was St. Olaf. Conference will be a total mess. Mac ran a better meet and that's saying much.
What a time to be an above average sprinter in the MIAC. Normally a 7.0 something 60 would be credible. Not with the current state of the MIAC sprinting and hurdling. Throws are definitely national level too. Everything else has one guy that is kinda decent.
Good to see the Johnnies opening up strong. It’s a two team race and Scholastica, Gustavus, and Carleton are fighting for the scraps.
Decent performances up in Duluth yesterday. Boone and Dewall both 2:29 in the 1000m and Tucker Wallin seems to be rounding into form with a solo 1:57 800m PB.
Where have the 5kers in this conference been lately? St. Olaf was obviously a flop meet, but no Johnnies or Knights on that currently qualifying list. Also just seems like the guys on the list should be further up, no discredit to Kelly, Calvin, Bati, and Lars, but the rest of the field really needs to step up. Hopefully the meets the next two weekends provide a little more of a snapshot into the conference than the shielded view we have now.

Looking at the top 15 from XC Young graduated, Gabe, Roy, Indy, Heartney, & Curtis are more milers. Skemp, Lynn, & Cote all appear to be injured - Good job Power.
Power notoriously over races his teams early Indoor and they fail to peak when it matters. Maxwell is clearly following the sage wisdom of his predecessor and will peak the Johnnies when it matters. Same with Ricks.
Bati appears to be taking on both Roy and Tor at different distances this weekend. That will be interesting.
Looks like NotKevbot changed his name. Either way, I don’t understand the hate for the Oles going to Boston, maybe it’s out of jealousy? Stout mile this weekend is for sure the highlight, hopefully Lars and Calvin can run nats qualifiers.
