To recap:
—NFL Players don’t stand for the national anthem—
The Right: to hell with this league! We’re going to boycott and burn our season tickets and gear and never give them a dime again!
—Elon Musk endorses an antisemitic conspiracy theory post and advertisers pull their money because they don’t wNt to associated with such views—
The Right: that’s outrageous! That’s blackmail!
And just to jump ahead of the obtuseness here, I disagreed with the attempts to boycott the NFL, but I fully supported the rights of all those people to destroy their own property and refuse to support the NFL in anyway. It’s their property, let them do with it what they wish.
So what’s the difference here, besides Elon being their guy? If you’re the head of a company and you do some crap that makes me not like you, I have every right to stop giving you my money.
And to the person earlier who mentioned hate messaging on Instagram, to whatever extent they’re making efforts to clamp down on that (I don’t have that data) Mark Zuckerberg isn’t supporting those hateful posts, is he? He’s too busy trying to get his ass handed to him in the octagon.
