There is nothing more tiresome and unenlightening as insinuation and innuendo about drug use based on nothing more than somebody running a fast time, even a historically fast time. If that’s all you got to share, keep it to yourself.
So you know for a fact that it's not clean or you're just jealous like the rest of these clowns that an African can run that fast? It's comical but sad that y'all hate so much after an African runs a fast time but praise Jakob for running fast times (and not be winded after) and never consider he's the main one on PEDs. Let's just have a white American only track league and see how great those times are.
And here we go again...
Take your racist sh^t elsewhere! There's no room for it on these boards.
Eilish is a terrible representative for the sport, she's plagued by injury which is clearly from REDS as she looks like she belongs in ED treatment but won't acknowledge there is an issue and insists its healthy.
What is REDS? Why do you think she needs erectile dysfunction treatment?
30:00 for 10k is nowhere close to a 2:11 marathon. 30:00 is worth about a 2:20.
2:18:36. And Assefa ran 2:11:53. Just worth noting if you fudge the numbers to create over 2 minutes in separation than reality to aid your argument.
The issue with Eilish or Nick Willis (back in the day) taking shots has always been is they are really not reasonably close to the maximal versions of themselves, so how would they have any idea of the peak performance of others?
Eilish basically ran egregiously low mileage (<50mpw) throughout the middle part of her career because she continually got hurt. She finally gets a short-lived run of health at age 31-32 on higher (but still relatively low) mileage and runs 30:00 and 65:43 for Half in a win (through a hamstring injury). She's injured again. I don't even need to get into her ungainly form, which can't be the most efficient way to get from Point A to Point B. So it might be a mind-blowing time to her and all of us, but who's to say what she would run if she was able to run 100-120mpw for a proper marathon build with better running form/efficiency? Assuredly faster than 30:00 or 65:43.
This time is striking, but I'd imagine we will see multiple 2:12-2:13s in the next few years just like after Kosgei's 2:14 suddenly 2:15-2:16 became pretty commonplace.
You never fail to find a way to fulfil your fantasy that the sport is still mostly clean at the top. But it is only a fantasy.
There is nothing more tiresome and unenlightening as insinuation and innuendo about drug use based on nothing more than somebody running a fast time, even a historically fast time. If that’s all you got to share, keep it to yourself.
What is more tiresome is the blatant drug use that "fans" refuse to see.
Try to keep the green-eyed monster at bay, Eilish.
She's being light-hearted.
Laughing is all you can do in the face of such shameless cheating. Not like anyone is ever going to take it seriously, even in Kenya the 'testing' is just lip service to a completely unmanageable problem.
Has she ever made any “light-hearted” comments about Paula “abnormal blood” Radcliffe?
I think that if you make public accusations or even insinuations about someone, even if privately you are pretty sure that they are guilty of that thing, it always makes you look bad. Saying that it will help clean up the sport is nonsense at this point. The powers that be and the various organisations that are fightin doping are aware there is a problem, and pointing fingers at any one individual is useless. They aren't going up the testing on an individual because another athlete says so. Carl Lewis used to do that and it turns out he was correct about Ben Johnson, but he ended up coming off as petty and unlikeable. What other sports star has had such a dominant career while also being so unmarketable?
How could I forget this one! Thanks. I hope people can see that with athletics we’re (or at least I am) interested in seeing the dynamic play out between natural talent and intelligent training. Norm has great talent but not always the best training. Jack trains well but not as talented. We want to see who wins that race… when PEDs are introduced.. Jake is not that talented, trains well and takes PEDs, wins the race… well that’s likely what we’re seeing right now and it really is unfortunate.. especially because we have no real way of knowing for sure and we just have to guess.
