Man our NCAA golden boy finally won. Shoutout to the Brooks Beasts that's their first world champion.
Someone nailed it on another thread. Hard to cheer for a guy that sandbagged a DMR anchor and screwed his team at NCAAs for his own benefit. Kerr is all about Kerr. He’ll need another seat for his ego on the flight out of Budapest.
Really happy for his coach though- Danny deserves it.
Danny has never really coached Kerr - hence why he's the only good athlete to ever come out of there.

I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt here, as it seems like he’s matured a lot in the last year or two. He comes across as a much more mature person.
Also, didn’t he have a stomach issue in that DMR (or am I mixing him up with someone else?).
In an exclusive post-race chat with LRC, Kerr vowed to do something special on Saturday, “I was watching even the World Championships indoors, being in 3:58 (for 1500m), that's not an exciting race to watch and we're going to...
Yes, good job Josh for winning a gold against Jakob. However, let us not forget that he basically drafted off of Jakob, making him do all the work. Jakob has an olympic gold and will be looking to defend that next year.
I thought he was over 6 but I am 6 even and 155 and look like him right now (sans chops)
Josh Kerr is 7 feet tall.
Yes, I've heard. Kills men by the hundreds, and if he were here he'd consume the Norwegian with fireballs from his eyes and bolts of lightning from his arse. I AM Josh Kerr. And I see a whole army of my countrymen here in defiance of tyranny. You have come to fight as free men, and free men you are. What would you do without freedom? Will you fight?
I have to admit that other than yesterday's race I'd only known of Josh Kerr from seeing a bit of his results on here (I stopped following T and F, including NCAAs, for much of the 2010s). After watching yesterday's 1500 I was watching some NCAA videos on youtube. I watched the (I think) 2017 indoor mile which Kerr won over Cheserek as a freshman.
Mind you, this was after watching the WC final. Not only did I not recognize Kerr until the announcers said who he was, on the first lap or two I was literally like 'who is this doughy looking big guy?' Guy has something special obviously, and looks a lot different than he did then. I'm shocked he was able to run like he did in college with that build!
Also watched a couple videos of the 1988 NCAA indoors (Joe Falcon in the mile and the 3000). It gave me an appreciation for what you hear about some of the old "board" tracks. As someone who is 6 feet tall I thought the 200 m. tracks were tight enough, but this thing was 10 laps to the mile and it was tough to imagine running directly on wood. Easy to believe that the boards soaked up energy pretty well.
I’m a Jakob fan, but man does that prelim look ridiculous now where he’s wagging his finger as he passes Kerr
This was my thought too, exactly. Hard to expect anything other than a near-win for Jacob given his form, but after that move some (more) humble pie was not a bad thing to see him get served.

In retrospect he should have stopped to sign autographs instead claiming that finishing the race is only something that the little people need to care about.
