the amount of members leaving this group is super concerning. That’s legit half their roster leaving before an upcoming Olympic year. Same dilemma like last Olympic cycle. Will tinman go defunct soon?
Please say Joey isn't one!!??? He's so close to sub 4 dang it!
How dumb are you? Joey ISN'T going...unless he's changed his first name to Aaron, or Brian, or Jamaine, or Jordan, or Tori. And he is so close to sub 4 -- only 2.3 seconds away, as in HE HAS ALREADY GONE SUB-4! Like 3:57.7. Like OVER A YEAR AGO!

You’re not wrong about the stats here but good lord is this how you interact with people in your daily life or are you just a keyboard warrior??
The Joey B and Sam P trust funds are still DEEP and they will be returning for another year!!!! Sam, I get, he qualified for worlds and may get an olympic spot--go do your thing, man. Joey, though. c'mon.

To be fair to Sam, he’s made a world final and run 13:12/7:39/3:36, at this point he’s a legit pro
i wish my parents were rich and covered all my expenses and costs so i could chase a pro running dream and not have to work a real job at all. not fair!! joey and sam you are lucky boys!

I'm not particularly surprised actually. A good handful of tinman guys were high level runners in the NCAA and/or bet on themselves to improve and earn a professional contract. Fresh out of college the Tinman setup definitely has it's positives, like consistent training partners and a good work life balance, plus living at altitude year round. It seems like a couple of these guys have found success and are now looking to move on, probably to make more money during their prime physical years, guys like Aaron, Brian, and Jamaine. Can't say much to the others as I haven't been keeping up with the group to the extent of a few years ago, but this all seems par for the course. Now, if Joey Barriatua left that might be cause for concern. He's an OG.

It's absolutely crazy how wealthy some of these trust funders/pro runners are...Parsons lives in Boulder full time driving a Tesla and vacations in what looks to the the South of France with friends while running a 13:23 in 2023?

Hakunamatata, good lord, how dumb are you?? (I couldn't resist using that expression again.) Yeah, I interact with all people in my daily life like this. In fact, I've been beaten up 15 times and shot 27 times for being a mean-spirited realist/reactionary. You insult me as you b*tch about my negativity, making you a classic hypocrite.
And isn't it great how the Tinman haters rise to the surface frequently on this forum? Anonymity is a beautiful thing here on LRC, and that includes my own postings.
As has been said more than once, haters gonna hate on LRC, especially when anonymity reigns.
Who wants to define the meaning of "ELITE" on this forum? A Top-10-in-the-US performer? A Top 10 performer in the world? An Olympic or World Championship medalist? A Division I All-American? Go ahead and define it, know-it-all geniuses. Guess what? A benchwarmer who gets one at-bat in major league baseball is still an elite baseball player, compared to the thousands of lesser baseball players. That benchwarmer is not the elite of the elite in the sport, but he's elite nevertheless. Every single athlete who ever ran for Tinman Elite was an elite athlete. Not Top 10 it the world, not a US Olympic team member or a World Championship US team member, but E-L-I-T-E, compared to the masses.
And SO WHAT if a person like Sam Parsons has parents who support him financially? I wish I had parents like that, and so do most people. But haters gonna hate on LRC.
This is great news Aaron and I hope you reach out to those that you turned down when you graduated. I can promise you that simply putting on another team jersey and remaining in Boulder is not your best option.

Parsons acts like a baller on social media. If your parents still finance your lifestyle at age 29 and you flaunt it on social media you deserve the hate you get. Period.

interesting and roots seems like a great choice. the roots crew has some good members and appears to function well. i dont know the funding structure though or how exactly that group works altogether. seems like it's completely unfunded? i get that there's no shoe sponsor so all the members can wear whatever they want and i think a couple of them have their own deals (stinson - saucony, frank lara/sydney - altra?)..but i assume that brian and aaron will continue to have no contract then..stinks if they have no financial support but i guess it is what it is for many..they must be working part/full time jobs out in colorado to support themselves (unless they also have parents money supporting their dreams lol, but they strike me as 2 guys who are just grinding it out and arent funded by bank of mommy and daddy)
i could see them working a low paying job scrapping together the $ they need to continue living in boulder to train. i guess if a mid 20s guy is out in CO training to be an elite, you probably only need $20-$30k a year to survive right? really not that crazy to make from a basic job. rent/food must be the biggest costs in boulder, but i guess even that can be cheap if you just room with other guys to split it. and then you must just live super basic/minimal..
i guess you're just not building any net worth at all for your future. thats the trade off to chase the dream. not much $ to your name but to these guys its probably worth training as hard as you can and then they'll move on to 'real' careers/lives at 30 lol. biggets thing would probably be rent but its probably subsidized if you're rooming with other athletes..anybody know the deets?

$20k - $30k a year in Boulder ain't going far at all in 2023...

To be honest… very ‘1965 -1977’; on the ^ world level, nobody knows his name or is threatened by Sam P.
Also they totally should’ve changed the name. Switching coaches is fine. Even firing them. Theft, especially when it comes to a ton of merchandise, is not fine.
They’re literally not even a real running group. Only two of them are sponsored, one isn’t even American. They’re literally a fake pro group who post enough on social media that we talk about them like they’re real. They’re the ultimate fakers. It’s the ultimate virtual reality.
