I catch some cold a few days ago and had a days fever but today felt quite good again and when it was a nice sunny day and + 20 C I went out for a run/ walk. It became 20 x 1 min + 2x 30 sec brisk run with 2 min walk rest between . It really gives me confidence to reach my goal to race in the Masters World Champs next year. I really feel like an aged 40 man in a biological body of soon 64 on Monday.😃🇸🇪🧙♂️J.S
maybe you should look into some miracle weight loss drugs like the American named OZEMPIC... you could be running your own training program, down 10-15 kilos in no time.
In fact I believe it gonna be quite easy for me to run 17:30 @ 5000m next year . It only requires my favorite maxVO2 interval 20 x 400m to be at 82-83 sec per rep. A couple of years ago I coached a Swede then aged 60 and with far from my basic talent ( In my only 800m race I did a 1:58. with opening lap at 54 sec). I got him down to running the 20x 400m @ 75-76 sec with 60 sec rest and controlled feeling. Out from this I think it really will be easy for me to run 20 x 400m @ 82-83 sec. and threshold intervals @ 3:45 min/ km. ( 6:00 mile pace) with lactate at about 3-4 mmol for most effective threshold improvement and complement with easy steady distance @ around 5 min/ km( 8 min mile pace) . Out from my coaching of hundreds of runners at different levels from ' hobby joggers' to world class elite I know I will be guaranteed quite easy to run at least a 17: 30. 5000m. next year, this year had given me a silver medal in Masters World Champs age group 65-69 ! 🇸🇪🧙♂️
I have actually won medals at WMA championships, but won't be setting up braggy threads beforehand. It'll be fun to line up and see what's what.
How fast did you run as a young guy? My best was a 14:20. @ 5000m. I myself don't think what I say here is braggy when I see what is required to run a 17: 30. 5000m. Most people I have met who don't know my real age guess at around 50. Of course an injury can stop me, but if not I'm now convinced sub 20 just will be too easy to reach and around 17:30 really looks very realistic......... Good night from Sweden , over and out. 🇸🇪🧙♂️👋

We believe in you coach and we already have evidence of your outstanding talent as an elite athlete many years ago but the big issue will be weight loss. To run 1730 for 5,000 meters you would need to weigh around 75 kilograms (166) or less for a height of 188 centimeters (6.2).
We also agree that you are a surprisingly youthful and dynamic looking 64 year old who can pass for at least ten years younger than your chronological age. No doubt, this is also advantageous in befriending women from the former Eastern block.
One feels, perhaps, that some posters here are somewhat jealous of your lifestyle and acquisitions.

Respect.
Why would anyone be jealous of a lonely 64 year old man, who needs validation from people on the internet, who lies about his accomplishments, and who has a lover that only sees him because of her own financial interest?
Most people seem to feel sorry for him, or annoyed by him, not jealous of him.
I guess we will be laughing at this all the way to 2025.
He can run that time but only and I repeat once again only if he loses a lot of weight down from around 220 pounds (110kg) he would need to get down to round 170 pounds (75kg). This would require a tremendous lifestyle adjustment especially with regard to diet and activity in his normal life. The Wizard leads a normal lifestyle in Sweden catching a bus to his job as a mathematics expert and then repeating the same in the afternoon, eating Swedish fatty meals in general with those delicious snacks and biscuits and chocolate which are top of the world and then the Swedish winter which is a challenge obviously with cold, snow, rain and wind especially in his location.
I'm not trying to dissuade the magician from his quest but it will definitely be a challenge but we hope he will rise to the challenge and achieve his goals.
On a personal level, I don't think he needs to do this, because he's already proved in the past that he was an elite runner.

Of all the nonsense you've ever posted. This is in the HOF. You're a fat mess. You look your age and you are totally out of shape for sure. I've seen many, many guys in shape for your age who look great and can run sub 20, you are not one of them. You are literally delusional in denial that 1. You are old and fat and 2. You aren't relevant anymore. In fact, you overestimate your relevance in the past. You were a good hobby jogger. Oh and there is literally a 0% chance you run 17:30. You won't break 20. Absolutely no chance. The only 1730 in this thread is the money you send to the Ukrainian girl who is conning you.

Just got news from China, where Sammy ran a good 65:04 Half yesterday finishing 6th, gearing up to next week's marathon. He's been following the recommendations of his longtime coach, Jan Stensson. Sammy's association with Stensson goes back to 2012, I believe (unless mistaken) when Sammy ran in Gothenburg. Through thick and thin, the surprisingly youthful (and nattily attired ) looking Viking coach (J.S.) has maintained a tight relationship with the Kissee born Kenyan athlete from the bantu subtribe. It is one of the longest associations that we have seen in the sport.
When did you last officially race, what distance & time, and when was the last time you had an uninterpreted training block of six months or more? Do you have any B or C race goals, other than the A goal of running at the World Championships?

I don't think he's raced for over 20 years unless mistaken.

Congratulations to Swedish athlete Andreas Kramer who qualified for the semi-finals of the 800 meters. Does Kramer have any connection to coach JS?

No Ghost1, no connection to me. If coached by me had run faster. My opinion he stays too long at 800m and should have moved up to 1500m .

My last official race in Boston marathon 17th of April 2000.....It was just sub 3 hours. A tough day for me and had to walk in the Heartbreak hills....but I finished and happy for that. A- goal to race in Masters World Champs next year, B - goal to reduce weight more and get in good shape again, C goal to stay healthy as long as possible to match my Ukrainian beauty ( age 39 ) .I have never stopped to run since last race but only ran sporadic during 23 years after...😉😁🙏🖐🧙♂️

Just notice Sammy contacted me at fb 2015 and asked for coaching. 2017 he got his biggest win so far in the Mully's half with about 5000$ first price.🖐🧙♂️🇸🇪

What do you know about that 55ht? I'm not 'blind' .....I know when it's for real or not. Was married 12 years to a Brasilian beauty, former Miss Brasil participant.Have met many women in my long life. Besides my Ukrainian beauty know I'm not financial strong.....lol 😁😉🖐🧙♂️🇸🇪

Did Sammy win any money in that last race?
I will inform you in private when I know. Kenyans don't want it to be in public. They get contacted by many ' friends' so to speak... 😉🖐

Thank you for your question but unfortunately I cannot answer it because the previous week after winning money his clubmates in Kenya found out about it and it caused problems for Sammy who has asked me not to mention money again so I have to respect that.
I assume he did win something because he would not have gone to China otherwise but unfortunately I will not be able to find out.
In Kenya when athletes win money in races overseas they usually keep it under wraps and secret in order not to cause problems in their entourage when they return to Kenya with everybody asking for a share of the spoils.
For that reason, I can mention the times that Sammy ran but will abstain from mentioning the prize money at this stage.

Quite good performance and points to a possible 2:15 marathon in his last race out of three in China for this time..... 🙏
