Well, it's certainly in their interest to try to get a strong course record at the very least. Behind that NRs/ARs for someone like Mantz is a huge draw as well (hence a second pacer). Chicago rarely has a field this good/deep, I think securing good pacers follows after you draw in the field with approachable targets. Chicago is only really riskier to me because of the weather. If conditions are good, Kiptum will be ready to blast one.
